I purchased the LSII and Bedrug for my TRD Pro and it was just installed. I had this exact setup on my 2010 Gen2, and it was perfect for my usage. I also had the keyless entry which worked well, also securing the tailgate without requiring me to lock the tailgate.

The above said, I noticed immediately that this sat higher than my original LSII that overlapped the bed by about ¾”. So, I tested the tailgate by opening it with the tonneau down/locked and I was able to pop it open. The sales guy said that the “tonneau was installed correctly” even though when you look at it head on, you can see some of the black plastic from the bed rails. I contacted A.R.E, to which they agreed it was installed too high, but after continued conversation, they indicated the bed caps were too shallow and it was installed properly.

I do like the cover, but noticed the quality has gone down from my 1st unit, where there are blemishes on this in terms of a paint issue, bubbles, etc. The website talks about wrapping over and shows pictures of this being lower. The marketing was such that it secures the tailgate as it did per my own experience of owning one of these on my gen2.

So, to my question. Do any of you guys with the gen3 have the LSII. Originally, the salesman who installed it indicated it could not be installed lower due to the new tailgate design and it sounds like A.R.E has changed their tune after talking with him.

    Thanks!Tonneau 1.jpg Tonneau 2.jpg Tonneau 3.jpg
