I am getting Katskinz installed tomorrow and I asked the shop about making the seat more comfortable. They stated that they can replace worn out foam and possibly add a little here and there but not much as the covers have to fit. They told me to mark where I would like any additional foam. I am thinking that having more right under the edge of the seat where your leg drops to the foot well would create a more snugged-in feeling. I am curious where you might suggest adding foam or replacing with softer etc. I am about 165 lbs and wife is less than that. The seats in the tundra feel fine for an hour or two, but my ten hour days leave my butt numb and I have no idea really how to fix this. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You can search my build page for what I did about 2 years ago.

Basically stuffed Organic matting between the foam and metal spring perimeter (edges only) under from the seat bottom. In short, it made the cushion of the two sides and front (under hamstring area) more dense. It really didn’t build it up in any manner but it made the seat more cuppy feeling afterwards.

Also, there is about a 1/4” of play under the front seat rails that can be shimmed up near the foot well which allows a slight more height in the front. Basically, a couple washers tilts the seat pan back so instead of the flat OEM pan feel you’ll have a more nestled feel.

Doing both will make a big difference for something so small. Free as I used repurposed shtuff.

Having just installing my Katzskins (you will love them) I would suggest adding some to the left side of the driver seat. Mine has come apart a bit and lost its firmness from sliding in and out of the truck. I noticed an improvement just from the new seat covers, but wish I had added some foam or replaced the bottom cushion entirely with a new one.
