Just looking for some real world reviews of the toytec aluma series coilovers. Looking at upgrading from my 3/1 spacer/block lift to a coilover/rear shackle setup. Hoping to get some feedback on the good/bad of this setup. For those of you that have this setup, did you upgrade the bumpstops? I see that as an option on the website, along with upgrading the UCA, which I currently have the stocker in place.

    Any info is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

I know @Tundra234 just installed them about a month ago. Hopefully he can chime in and give you some feedback. I have the Toytec Boss kit.

I will reply to the OP....I have been looking at new trucks and then backed off bc the prices are high. Today one of our local dealers got a white DC SX model in. Sale price of 33.7K.Tempting because the other night the Carvana offer on mine went up to 17,878 for stock. Dealer only offered 12K stock. I would move everything over if I did get one. Lift, step bars, front bumper, etc. If i sold mine for 17K, that down payment would put me in the mid 300's for a payment.

I removed a Readylift 3/2 spacer kit from my truck back in May and switched over to coilovers. I am running the Aluma 2.5's with SPU UCA's up front and the Toytec Boss shocks with remote resis in the rear. I am also running Toytec shackles set at 1.5 along with 1/2 inch axle shims. My truck is a 2013 2wd with the 4.6 and I am dead level with this setup. I ended up with about 3.5 inches up front and 2 in the rear. I run 285/70/18 Ridge Grapplers on a 0 offset 18x9.

As far as the Alumas, the ride is so much better. The Alumas absorb bumps better as well. These are trucks and not sports cars, so obviously they won't ride like one but you would be happy with switching over to coilovers. I havent done bumpstops yet, but its on my to do list. The UCA's are recommended for the Alumas. They look nice but more importantly you will need them for a proper alignment. They are easy to install as well. I did buy the zero degree wrench which made the removal and installation UCa's alot easier. I also had to buy the large socket to torque the ball joint. When you do the rear end, it is safer and highly recommended to replace the u-bolts due to the thread design. They are known as a "torque once and done" type of scenario. With my axle shims, I purchased the 7 inch u-bolts. Toytec has them as well. I dont have any negatives at all on this setup. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions. I pretty much live in this forum.

    Alumas $1250
    Rear with resis $450
    U-bolt kit $44.00
    Shackles $200.00
Axle shims with pins $40 for the pair

What would the duro bump stops do in your set up? You’re not long travel right?

Running 2.0 Aluminas up front with SPC UCA’s and 2.0 Alumina in the rear with a 2” Toytec block. Drives nice. Can’t say much better than the OME setups I’ve run in the past though.

Installed a month ago and love it. I also did MCM fab uniball UCAs. Ive done bilstein 5100s and 6112s in the past and I like the toytec setup more.

The 2010-2013 Salsa Red TE 4Runner is like a unicorn. Maybe it was Barcelona Red....whichever one is not currently offered now. Those things look awesome!

Finally ordered and arrived. Getting put on on tuesday, along with the diff drop kit, total chaos uca's and toytec rear shackles. Getting an alignment as well. New nitto ridge grapplers go on monday afternoon....hopefully the install doesn't take too long. For those of you that have installed these / had them installed...how long should all of the above take?

Discount Tire messed up my wheel order and had one with the wrong bolt pattern, so I ended up waiting almost 2 months to get the new wheels and tires on, but here they are.t1.jpg t2.jpg

    Lolz that made me laugh.

Sorry guys I should of posted an update. Here's my Toytec 2.0's set at 2" (ish) in the front and the shackles set at 1" in the rear.

Rides awesome after breaking it in properly with a couple dirt road roadie trips.
