    Pretty simple.
    1. Do you agree or disagree with the below theory?
    2. What do you do with a shopping cart?

    I'll go first.
    1. On a simple level, yes I agree. It's hard to argue with the basic logic presented. It's not as black and white as this "theory" makes it seem, but I'd say it can be an indicator of character/awareness.
    2. At the local stores 99% of the time I take the cart back to the store. At the very least I will put it in the cart return, and my OCD makes me put it in neatly and straighten any others that are already there. At a Walmart or somewhere out of town I always put the cart in the return, again, as neatly as possible.

I always return the shopping cart ("buggy" here in the deep South).

Funny. I always think similar thoughts when I see people behave like SAVAGES. Though there are varying degrees of my savage type thoughts and each has progressively more aggressive cuss words!!!!

Not sure savages would be my word choice, but I get where you are coming from.

    1. Agreed
    2. Not only do I return my cart but, just like you, I tidy up the others as best I can.

As a young fellow, part of my job was to walk to a neighboring apartment complex, collect carts, and push them back to the grocery store. I learned a lot about people in those few years. I choose to place carts neatly back in the return stall... AND THEN STEAL THE WHOLE LOT OF THEM!!! NO CARTS FOR ANYONE!! :D

    1. I steal the cart and put all the cans and bottles I collect into the cart.

    2. I have a buddy push me into the bushes “jackass style” and post it to social media

1.) Ive seen this before and agree with it.

2.) I return the cart 95% of the time. The other 5% I say screw it. If a company is too cheap to put an adequate number of cart corrals in the parking lot, then they can use tye saved money to hire cart attendants. I dont hunt for the cart corrals. If I cant easily find one, it gets lumped with the others in an empty spot/grass area nearby.

I do NOT leave it sitting in the middle of vehicles so it can cause dings/scratches.

I agree with this. Sam's Club and Walmart almost always have well-considered locations for their cart returns, and I ALWAYS put the cart in them. Publix grocery stores do OK, but not quite as convenient. Piggly Wiggly grocery stores are horrible. I will return it if it's somewhat convenient, but I'm not going to walk an extra 100 yards to return a cart. I will position the cart to avoid blocking a parking space but that's about it.

As to whether I agree with the sentiment of the post, I absolutely do not. I know people who return carts but are horrible people otherwise, and vice versa.

Just the other day at Costco when I returned the cart, I rearranged the existing carts so they would all fit in the corral and not stick out into the parking lot. 2 seconds of effort and they were all in a line. As they should be.

I always return the cart to the corral. And if one of my kids does it, I make sure they push it in as far as it will go.

It’s annoying to see one or two haphazard carts blocking the entrance to an otherwise empty corral.

    Never.

They have employee's for that, I paid for it when I shopped in your store. Nothing more complicated than that.

EDIT : I do stick them in the corral though

I always return it…..except when they stop me on the way out to check my receipt to make sure I didn’t steal anything. If they do that, I go out of my way to put my buggy as far away and inconvenient for them as possible. Even if I’m parked right next to a corral.

There was once a time when I would return carts to corrals at about 70mph. I had a GTI and would browse my local walmart parking lot in the middle of the night looking for strays. Loud noises, bent metal, and good times.

Edit: I grabbed the sides of the damned things with my left arm hanging out the window and let rip through 2nd gear.

Ever wonder why some carts won't pull apart? When I was younger, I used to run with the cart and then launch it into the last cart in the corral.

I'm absolutely a car returner, but I would say I'm version B. I grab other carts along the way and put on an attitude and act like I'm pissed at the fact that people are too lazy to put carts back. I've had a few funny looks from people who mostly step out of the way, and I realize people might have a valid reason, but honestly the 'tude is just for fun. :D

    I might need help.
