A 1963 Corvette with L84 Fuel Injection (360 hp @ 6000rpm) would be near priceless today. Unfortunately, you would have to become an expert in tuning the fuel injection unit to keep it running. No help, no help from anyone but a few.

I think the best oil is whatever the dealer uses on my truck for lifetime oil change every 3k miles hahahah. In reality I think length the oil is in your truck is more important than what kind goes in it.

Every 3k that’s excessive but if you have that package might as well abuse it  My dealer does 15k miles but I do it at 10k myself.

Yep when I didn’t have the lifetime oil change I would do 5k intervals. Idk if they messed up or something because on my wife’s Camry they do the maximum normal interval change for her car which is 7.5k miles. Either way Im ok taking it in every 4 months for oil haha.

Currently running 5w20 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in my Tundra. Will be switching to Havoline Full Synthetic going forward. The 6 quart boxes from Walmart for $19.95 are a great deal. Plan to use 0w20 in the winter and 5w30 in the summer.

You guys see that one Blackstone lube report, guy had 25K miles on his Tundra oil and it was still good, actually showed no degradation. Why not stick with the Penzzoil it ranked 2nd highest behind amsoil.

Don't mind the comments on the low oil level, I only put 8qts instead of 8.5, hasn't been a problem since. Recently switched to Schaeffers 5w30, but here is what it looked like on 0w2020200916_142627.jpg

Just Changed the oil in my 17’ for the first time. I used mobile 1 0w/20 as recommended. With my 13’taco I used mobile 1 5w/30 and on my 94’ land cruiser I have always used rotella 5w/40. Always used a Toyota filter though.

My guess would be that he bought it used and this is the first time he's changed it as a new owner. Could be wrong, but that's where my brain went.

I use Castrol 0-20w syn. A buddy of mine said he learned in mechanic's school not to use Pennsylvannia oils but I believe that was in the old days before synthetics.

Lmao. Sorry I was a little vague. I purchased the truck used and I changed the oil for the first time ( of me owning it).

I have been using Walmart Super Tech in all my vehicles including my 1970 Chevelle numbers matching big block for years. Never an issue as long as the oil meets the required specs. Everything else is advertising hype and you WILL pay a premium. While under warranty I would stick to OEM. After that everyone will say there stuff is best for one reason or another!

Oil flows out of the drain hole like water through a busted dam. Damn! What are you all doing to mitigate that? I change my oil without lifting my 3rd gen. That's how I did it with my 1st gen and it was easy peasy. With the 3rd, oil rushes out so fast my catch can can't keep up and it splashes all over the inside passenger tire. Maybe I should drive it up on ramps and get a giant satellite dish type funnel for a backstop!

I'm using Eneos Full Synthetic 0W-20 and Toyota oil filters.

If it has the API stamp and is the correct weight, you can't lose. Oil is oil.

I thought about getting this years ago. If I recall there were some issues where the valve leaked.
