What have you done to your 2nd gen Tundra today?

Installed OE Style Fender Flares from Ebay ($200), had them painted for $180 when I got my Sequoia Grill painted. :

Had my differential fluids filled because the front was full and clean, but the rear was near empty

Toyota quoted me $300 to replace the rubber window moldings. I bought both and replaced them myself in about 10 minutes for $40

Engine bay day!

I usually buy parts here and there and save them up for nice day off like today.

Today I got around to installing:

I bought this because a friend recommended it. There are more expensive ones. My tech friend has a BlueDriver. It's 100.00 but I don't know the difference other than that.

ETA: If you get the linked dongle and have IOS, just run the app without connecting to the dongle via bluetooth settings.

 

I could not get that thing to pair with my phone, no matter what I did. So I sent it back. I wanted to use it for trans temp monitoring. I ended up getting ScanGauge II. I've also had BlueDriver for years.

 

It won't pair with the phone but will run with the app. It's weird but that's how it works.

 

It didn’t run with the app either. I tried resetting the phone, ignition key in different positions, nothing. I think I may have gotten faulty unit, because I only got it, based on what everyone on here said about it

 

Replaced starter, after 6 hours of struggling succeeded! Hopefully I can get 14 years out of this new starter as well.

Just so I can change an oil filter.

 

I have a couple of these that need replacing and was wondering if there was much to it. What is the process if you don't mind.

 

The worst part of Toyota's design on this truck. Why the hell couldn't these idiots have designed a disposable oil filter with easy access like the Tacomas

 

They wanted to control the oil bypass valve pressure.

 

Well....... Then maybe a filter option at the bottom with reasonable access?

I don't run a lot of miles, so once a year doesn't seem too bad to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't first have to fail 3 times EVERY TIME before I jiggle it loose, and the same putting it back on. And I hate the sound of the hooks scratching against metal when you miss, reminds me of nails on a chalkboard lol.

 

Got my aal from toytec to go with the aluma coilovers I got the other day. Now I’m just waiting on my rear shocks and it’ll be time for install.

 

My tracking came yesterday for my Toytec rear shocks. Now I can think about my install too. Good luck with yours!

Flares look awesome! How was the fitment? I've been thinking about getting these.

 

I replaced mine so I can share the process. Just get a plastic trim tool and carefully pry them off. If your paint is nice (mine isn't) add a microfiber under the pry tool to protect the paint.
