I inherited my grandfathers 2001 2wd. 105k miles, north Texas owned so rust free. Love driving this truck. So far I’ve had the timing belt/water pump job done at a shop. Drain and fill on the tranny, power steering fluid change, rear diff fluid. Front strut assemblies and spark plugs arriving today.

Any other advice on what I should do?

Welcome to the club. Sounds like you have the basics covered.. Time to enjoy it and drive the snot out of it!

The radiator is almost 20 years old, so you may want to keep that in mind. Beyond that, these things are pretty bulletproof.

Coolant was changed as part of the timing belt job. I’ll keep an eye on it. Looks
Like a new radiator on rock auto is only 120.

I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Very nice! Looks like you covered every thing for the most part. I’d throw a new fuel filter on there as well since it’s easy/cheap. Might as well do the front diff and tcase fluid as well.

@2001TXTundra Might want to check out the rear axle breather mod. Keep your axle seals happy.
Might be hard for him to find those last two without a spare truck that's 4wd.

From the sound of what you’ve done, just drive and enjoy. Maybe rear shocks to go with the front coil over springs. Might have front suspension given a once-over and have ball joints replaced with OEM Toyota’s if necessary (do your research, worth the $$$ over other brands) Oil changes & air filter if needed.
Sharp looking ride! Welcome from the TX Panhandle!

Preserve Grans truck as best as possible by washing and waxing it. Looks like it has a nice shine still.

That’s a clean looking 1st gen, grandpa must have taken good care of it. I’m in WTX area but spent alot of time out in Denton over the years, was kinda bummed when I saw they closed down Corner bakery in front of the mall last time I was there. Welcome to the forums, enjoy the truck!
