Replacement DS grab handle from eBay

Ok guys. I cheeped out and bought a used DS handle assembly from Ebay for my 2021 SR5 Tundra. Ran me plus $100. What I received was an item with some scratches on the pillar shell and a handle with red stains like from a magic marker. Seller has a 100% rating so I took a chance and now have to deal with the results. Coloring seems ok but I would like to address the scratches and red stains. Any ideas? Be gentle please!

I bought mine from an online salvage/parts seller (I will not share name) item was listed as slightly used. It looked like it was colored in with a pencil it was so dirty.

I reported it and a few messages with the seller, they decided they did not want a negative rating (had a very positive one) the outcome ended with a refund and me keeping the item.

Several hours of cleaning and an item bottle of goo gone and the handle is spotless and has been in my truck for 18 months.. AND I had the refund to spend on more truck stuff.

It never hurts to communicate, just be professional.

 

I have been doing just that. The seller is being kinda evasive in that he keeps telling me to keep him posted like I am supposed to be doing something to address the issue. Would be fine if I did not go back and forth prior to purchase stating I realized I was buying a used item and asked that unless the item was clean please don't send and I will wait or cancel the order. He has listed no returns. Obviously I could try to clean stains and buff out scratches but that was not what was intended with all the prior going back and forth prior to purchase. My bad, I guess but I am trying to work things out! We will see.

 

Ok. Seller issued refund. Now have to go to SPARKS!

I bet someone here wouldn’t mind a damaged one if they have a work truck or something.

 

you could do some light sanding of scratches, clean it well and then paint it.

 

Try a magic eraser

 

If someone is looking for a used one check Ebay. There were just too many issues with what I received. New needs something looking new. Older vehicle not so much.
