You’ll need to trim some plastic on the Decked system.

@1stgentundradriver, looks like no dice for us. Unless you wanted to buy a set and ream them out to work.

center of the bed bolt measurements

    1st gen tundra: 10.5 inches
    2nd gen tundra: 11 inches
    2nd gen Tacoma: 9.5 inches

@TOTAL CHAOS any chances of getting a set made for a 1st gen tundra double cab?

We don't have anything planned at this time but it's always a possibility.

Thanks to everyone for your input on this thread. I just ordered mine yesterday from SDHQ and looking forward to the install! :bananadance:
They will be going on a 2021 DC 6'7" bed with Line-x.

If anyone has any questions about the install let me know so I can plan on getting photos to help answer.

@TOTAL CHAOS , any plans to make these for the '22s? With the new composite bed, I can see a potential need for them.

    Function before sparkle.
With the new frame is it as useful as the previous gen?

I thought it was because too much weight was put onto the bedsides (basically the body). They start to push outward at the top. I do remember reading that the flexible frame exacerbates it, but if you’re carrying a lot of weight on a bedside-mounted rack, I would think it would still be an issue off-road even with a more rigid frame. Just speculation though.

We can't justify making a stiffner specific for use with certain racks because there are so many. Sorry!

That is one reason. From the best of my knowledge bed stiffeners or supports were made back in the day because people like myself abused their trucks way too hard in the dirt. LOL. See link for more pictures. Not my truck but a good example.

How about making them for use with the factory bed extender?

I think this was a problem on the first few years of production. Toyota refined things. My 2020 bed is different from my 2008. I am not worried about issues with my 2020. It's completely different in that area of the bed. If problems arise I will repair and then add the stiffeners. Until then I feel the bed stiffeners are unnecessary on later 2.5 gens....YMMV

Same situation. The beds are different between the Tundra's and Tacoma's. On the Tacoma these are very much needed as the beds are very weak. The Tundra doesn't have the same issues as the Tacoma and the bed stiffner for the Tundra is more for those who are adding weight to the bed, doing lots of off-roading, and also nice to have extra tie down points.
The bed stiffners do work with a lot of options out there but we can't tailor fit a specific bed stiffner for use with any specific accessory that can be used with the truck. We have looked into a lot of these types of questions and we do bring them back up on occasion to make sure we are filling the needs of the market but there needs to be a big enough market for it to justify doing the R&D and production changes needed for that.

I was thinking about adding a fiberglass shell and then down the road a RTT.
Thought they would give more support.

Saw this thread pop up and figured I'd share in case anyone didn't see my specific thread on this...I fab'd up some stiffeners using the existing Swingcase brackets. Not as tall as dedicated stiffeners, but better than nothing in my opinion considering the angle braces I used are 1/2" thick...
