I use Stans Race Sealant. Don't have the weeping thru sidewalls, but don't have rocks scrubbing on the sidewalls like yours so not fair comparison. I use Gorilla tape as rim liner...LBS taught me that. DHF on front both bikes, Aggressor rear on the XCish bike and DHRII rear on the Hightower works well for mainly dirt / rootiness here...only one place I go is rocky.

I recently got the OneUp aluminum pedals and got a few rides in. They are amazing and much better than the RaceFace Chesters I’ve been using for the last few years. The grip is incredible especially with all the rocks and roots I encounter.

Thanks my man. I LOVE IT! Doing the California Death Ride in July and Triple Bypass in Colorado in August. Doing a 120 mile PeloFondo (Peloton) tomorrow starting at 05:00. Can't get enough of any of it. Ordered Ride88 racks for the TRD Pro today. It's going to be a good year!

Agreed! I've had a 1UP rack for years. They're built in Wisconsin a few hours from me.

well first ride with OneUp carbon handlebars and it's nice. bike is very nimble.
Next is OneUp dropper post whenever back in stock.
Building your bike is addicting, I only have few original parts left on the complete bike I bought 2 years ago.
thank god it's cheaper than building a truck..lol

I had almost bought the Stan's race sealant but then the shop told me they usually use Orange so I got that instead. Should have just gone with my gut and got the Stans. The tires were about 8 months old when I took that pic. Right after adding fresh sealant, the next ride I piled into some sharp rocks and had the front spraying me with sealant. When I stopped I put the hole facing the ground and it finally plugged it up. On a positive note, I haven't had the issue burping the front with Orange like I did occasionally before, so it seems to work well against that. I only run about 20PSI in the front, 25PSI rear.

There's still a small hole in the front tire thats constantly blowing bubbles. The leak is so slow that I've lived with it for about a year. The tire still has lots of life left in it so don't feel the need to replace it yet. Think now I should just clean it all out and switch to Stans Race.

Very nice. I have a super duty single on order, I wanted something a bit beefier than the Quik rack that I had.

I went with Kuat because when you have 4 bikes to carry, the 1Up is getting expensive. If I was solo I would probably try it.

The hole is so small, I'd be quadrupling the size of it with a dynaplug which is why I think either Orange seal sucks or, if it was mixed with Stan's, it was rendered ineffective.

At any rate, went for a ride yesterday. It was very windy at the top and had to walk quite a few of the 6-18" snow drifts (was climbing) but the quick ones I was able to blast through. Everything worked well until right at the end... got in some very sticky mud and messed up the adjustment of the derailleur in the higher gears that keeps the chain tensioned properly (last pic). So close to the truck decided to just fix it when I got home. Here's a few pics:

Never had good luck with Orange seal myself.
I tried Finish Line some great luck at sealing holes(stuff is super thick) but it just didn't work well for me in the heat. Just went back to Stans and called it a day.

Im considering going tubeless but it seems like a rabbit hole of issues. Is it worth the effort and mess?

    Absolutely.
I really only have like one major issue a year and it’s usually a sliced tire.
I can jam a tub in it to get home. Otherwise, thorns and pinch flats are pretty
    Much non -existent nowadays.

I should probably add, make sure your rims are tubeless compatible. A good rim tape and then off to the races. It's super easy.

I'd say running tubeless is worth it too at least for mtn biking. I don't have a gravel or road bike so I can't speak to tubeless there, but I'm able to run 20-25 psi in the front and 25-30 in the rear depending on terrain and speed. It makes for a more comfortable ride and insane traction. I think it might be a little lighter too versus running either a thorn proof tube or a tube with sealant or slime in it. Pinch flats are a thing of the past.

Tubeless is always worth it. I have had good luck with Orange Seal but it does dry out after 4-6 months.
I have good luck with Stan’s Race or the Bontrager as they have fibers to help.

Yeah so I wouldn't run tubeless on a skinny tire road bike.

High pressure is a no-go to me.

So wider tires running lower pressure, ie mountain biking and gravel bikes with 38mm or wider tires are best in my opinion.

Dammit I wish I knew as much about Tundras (and BMW motorcycles) as I do about bikes.

Sounds like i should give tubeless a go then. Do i just ask for a tubeless valve stem for mtb? Wheels and tires are good for tubeless so that is easy.

    Scotch Strapping Tape 8896, Blue, 24 mm x 55 m https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C0Z1Z5C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_PA1HYDA3DR2T5MWW77BK?_encoding=UTF8

Life hack this tape is awesome for tubeless. Covered the valve holes on my 30mm wide spanks perfectly 3yrs ago never a leak or retape (fits right in the groove) could do ten wheels with this roll. Make sure your rim is clean and dry. Pull the tape taught but don’t stretch it only overlap about 6 inches of tape. I don’t like to double it up. Use a heated scratch awl to make the valve hole in it once taped. Stan charges a ridiculous premium for tape but I only use their sealant. This is the same tape different color, have seen this tape from a lot of oem manufacturers. And yes, get the appropriate length valve for tubeless. Another thing that helps especially if your tire and rim aren’t a tight fit is an air compressor with a sharp tip attachment. Pull the valve core and put a lot of air in fast to seat the tire before you put sealant in. Make sure to tighten the valve core (I like to use the specific tool for this). Then add sealant and repeat the seating process. I usually air up to 40 psi and do the roll and shake to try to coat the tire. Maxxis tires are the easiest to seat for me. I’ve had some issues with Schwalbe being too loose, continental seep sealant forever and dry out, and some other brands are too tight on the rim. Also depends on your specific rim of course. My spank have been perfect. Also check your sealant mid season it can dry out or booger up. Use just enough to coat the tire, don’t add too much or it’ll booger up, too little and it won’t do the job. Also shake the sealant right before adding, and the little single use bottles are convenient I keep one in the truck. But yup. It’s pretty easy and low maintenance if you set it setup correctly from the start. I run 20-22psi up front and 26-28 in the rear on a 29x2.5 tire. I weigh 225 and am a skilled slow rider LOL. I don’t take many risks and ride smooth (very few flats in my lifetime since tubeless). So your mileage may vary.
