My current EDC knife is a Benchmade Mini Griptilian that I have tinkered with. Titanium scales I flame anodized. Acid etched blade. Green anodized titanium bits and pieces.

I'm also into bushcraft knives. My current favorite is my LT Wright GNS but I go back forth with my Survive GSO 5.

Just picked up a Ruike P121. Super smooth, great quality, very good looking, well balanced. And cheap. $35 bucks on Amazon. It came pretty sharp, and has no play on the blade. I definitely recommend getting it. I lose knives from time to time and I'm definitely not losing another high dollar knife. I'd say the quantity Is close to Benchmade, but not quite there yet. 20210423_230420.jpg 20210423_230448.jpg

I like my Paramilitary 2, except for the sticky lock. I've been told by a few folks on some of the knife forums to be patient and let the knife break in. In other words.... "they all do that". Well, I've cycled it open and closed ~3000 x and not much improvement. These compression locks require a pinchy approach on top so that you are only holding the knife with finger tips to close. My example asks the extra task where I have to really reef on the lock to get the knife to close. Sure, I could always use two hands, but that takes away some of the function of the knife. Yes, I've dropped it a couple of times. I took this video showing the stick. I'm applying progressively stronger force until it finally breaks free. I can't give you an amount of force required, but the effort is real y'all.

    https://youtu.be/c2swjtqihKY

A 1st world problem for sure, but I'm hoping someone else has encountered and may have a solution. I pulled it apart and nothing seems amiss. Cleaned and lubed. Maybe a tiny bit better, but still sticky.

My fix was putting it back in the drawer so it no longer frustrated me.
I also have a Cold Steel that’s the same way.
They sit comfortably right next to each other.
Too many other knives that do better.
Some are for looking at, some are for using.

I guess I'm stubborn, OCD or something.... but I don't want to give up on the PM2. There are so many fans of this knife and the Spyderco compression lock. I really like everything else about the knife even though the leaf blade shape looks a bit weird. It is lightweight, carries well, super sharp and the pivot is very smooth. Once the lock is released, it drops shut by gravity.

I do not know this knife but I have disassembled many gun and trigger actions that by polishing with fine grit emory cloth became smooth as silk.
Looking at the disassembled picture of your knife, I think it should be possible to eliminate the problem with some careful file work and polishing. A slightly eased edge can work wonders for eliminating a “catch”

I also have a Bugout that I carry to the office. Very sharp and disappears in my pocket with the deep carry clip. It takes care of 98% of my daily tasks. I saw this video a while back about putting the Bugout through paces. Honestly, I just had to ask why... but it held up well for a very lightweight knife. Some of it is cringe worthy. Don't try this at home.

    Woo Hoo!

Received my knife from Ray ( @gosolo ) a couple of weeks ago.
I’ve finally been around the house long enough to enjoy it.

I’d like to start off by saying, working with Ray has been an absolute joy.
He’s gone above and beyond to help create a knife was beautiful, well made and combined two styles of knives.

    It’s a Santoku-Chef with a ricasso.

The cut and balance are amazing.
This thing slices like a champ!

The pattern is really hard to appreciate in photos.

    204 Layers - 15N20 & 1084 Hi-Carbon.
    45° ladder pattern.
Stabilized curly maple handle with copper corny bolts.

*Added pics with my 7 year old daughters abstract artwork, we had made into a glass, shatterproof cutting board.
