What tuner?

Fairly old thread. Anything new in tuners? Think I m ready to get one.

 

I installed DAP last week..Put 700 miles on it..! WOW! It’s a different pickup! Shifting is clean at low RPMs and much more crisp at redline! Power increase is very noticeable.. and a little bonus..my avg MPG since the tune is at 14.1! Was at 12.4!

FYI I also have BAMUFFLER and an AFE pro dry air filter. These were installed well before the tune and did make a noticeable difference in power. DAPtune I think really takes full advantage of these mods! I’d been looking for different tunes for about a year! @Rex Kramer pushed me off the fence..

 

How do i download tunes to my bully dog tuner i asked bully dog and they said that the tuner won’t tune tundras but it seems like a lot of other owners have tuned the tundra

 

Would the Pedal Commander interfere with the Tune?

 

You would utilize one of the pre-loaded tunes on the Bully Dog - Stock, ECO, Trail, and Performance

 

From what others who have went tuned it does not interfere.

 

Once you install a tune, the pedal commander is not needed. The tune takes care of the the “drive by wire” sensitivity as well as the shift points. The PC only adjusts the drive by wire sensitivity..

 

I second this. Much improved acceleration and shifting. Low end is better. Don't have to listen to my aging AIP pump anymore. Just installed a few hours ago and went for a test drive before work. Hoping for MPG improvements myself. I'm at 16 now, and plan an Eibach stage 1 lift over the weekend. I'll need all the help I can get to stay close to that, I think.

 

What did it change performance wise? Did it adjust the air/fuel ratio?

 

if i wiped them can i get them back

 

BullyDog tech support can replace them, just give them a ring.

Not for for our platform, last time I looked on their site custom tuning was coming though.

 

i have a 2021 tundra and i have looked into bully dog but the site does not list it available for my year. any recomendation?
