So I got some new tires, wheels, struts, upper ball joints and lower ball joints on my 05 Tundra. When I picked it up from the shop the ABS was trying to engage causing a spring noise every time I would stop. I brought it back to the shop and they claimed to fix it but the ABS light was on when I went to pick it back up. The light had never been on before. So I bring it back for a 3rd time and they claim that it is a bad ABS speed sensor on the rear passenger side that went bad while they had it but they want me to pay for it.....Did they mess my Tundra up?????

short answer, yes. If they had been forthcoming at the original visit and said that the ABS sensor broke during the maintenance due to being old, brittle, end of life etc, then maybe they get a pass. Breaking it and not saying anything? shady. "Worked fine before I dropped it off with you" would be my line. They should cover it. But I learned long ago, pick your battles. I would likely chalk it up to age and replace it myself at home for a 30 bucks if they wanted to get too chippy. But I would let them know that without resolution of the problem I would likely be leaving an honest, unflattering review. Businesses live and die by these reviews now. It's a nice bargaining chip.

They ended up doing the right thing and replacing the sensor on their buckle.

wait. you had work done in the front end (except the struts assuming they did the rear shocks too) and the rear sensor quit working? honestly it sounds like bad timing. the work they did they never would of touched that sensor. (unless they stretched the wires) but typically stretched wire would of been a code before you even left.

depending on where your from. if your up in the rust belt, its not uncommon for the ABS wires to corrode in the rear of these trucks.

I'd crawl under there and see if theres any physical damage to the sensor. if there is.. then yes. the shop done messed up
