I recently installed a set of Rigid backup lights. Cool little lights - bright for the size.

But I am having problem with one not lighting up. I traced it back to the wiring as it enters the lamp. If you touch it the wrong way the light goes out. The connector at the lamp is bad. So I contacted Rigid.

They are happy to replace the light their warranty process seems silly for a $60 lamp. They are advising:

    1. For me to remove and destroy the lamp.
    2. Send pictures of the destroyed lamp.
    3. Wait for the pictures to be confirmed (they average 3 days per interaction).
    4. They will then submit for a new lamp to be built.
    5. Wait 5 weeks for it to be built.
    6. Then they will send to me (not sure how long shipping will take).
So basically a hole in my bumper for what is likely +6 weeks while I wait. And they are on demand building these little lights? (doesn't make sense to me)

Are my expectations wrong here or does this seem like a very unfriendly warranty process? Anyone have a different experience with Rigid?

    Pete

I agree that it's not a very friendly warranty process, but I also see why they are requesting it. If it's broken it makes sense to just have the customer show you it's destroyed rather than pay for shipping on a return.

    Alot of them
I would just order a new one and then tinker with the old one and see if you can fix it.

I normally would but just don’t have any use for a third random lamp.
