I'd like to try and start a brake job for front this afternoon. Any suggestions? Local Toyota said they can have parts here tomorrow. Can I mismatch rotors and pads? I found the akebono at a Napa store locally might grab those with new rotors. Or do I wait and order OEM or get package deal from somewhere?

I think akebono is oem, or close to it, but that’s fine to them use OE rotors

I think you’d be fine with that. My biggest thing is getting oem rotors, I’ve had bad luck with everything else but oem stops smooth and lasts a lot longer.

I just turned my oem rotors and threw the sonny Bono’s on, I have them on the 4runner as well, it’s a nice setup
