Got a 2008 DC LB 4x4 recently. Added a toolbox & running boards (thanks FB marketplace), and I’m in the process of installing new shocks & rear Timbren ses for towing/hauling.

I got a 07 sr5 double cab long bed with towing package and some custom leather seats. its got a center console idk if it was an option but parking is the easiest thing for me. it's easier than a fj, rdx, accord, or any shorter wheelbase vehicle I've driven. making right turns at a tight intersection worries me a but I get along fine. I see other ram, ford, chevvy owners take a glance at me while I pass them which I think is funny. Parking is only a pain when someone squeezes by my rear and takes the spot I was going to back up in.

I saw a company that extends your crew cab 5 foot bed to 8 foot but i forgot the name. it just turns into a giant roadblock on wheels.

I currently have the same ARE camper shell but it has the big trunk door and glass door in the center of it. Do you know of any place that has the top glass like the one you have? I want to put the tailgate back on and keep the cap.

Fun to see other long bed Tundras out there that aren’t living the stock work truck life.
Here’s a few pics of mine. 2018 SR. I’ve done the windshield wiper control mod, tint, wheels & tires, remote start, and an ARE MX topper with a Prinsu Rack. The side windoors on the topper have been clutch for being able to get to gear in the bed without having to crawl in from the back.

Here’s a bad photo of the Prinsu Rack when it first went on. I have few goodies mounted on it now. I’ll have to snap some better photos of it soon

Very cool ARE MX topper - what's something like that cost? Easy on / off? Or is it a semi-permanent mount?

Did you purchase directly from https://www.4are.com/product/mx/ ?

I purchased through a local ARE dealer that I found through their website. Went with ARE because they were the only ones I found that made a mid rise topper for the long bed. Out the door price was $4005 but I added a bunch of options. Here's my build sheet. Keep in mind prices vary some depending on your market. Also, I might be selling it later this year. If anyone is interested, let me know. I almost have the wife talked into a lightweight wedge camper. Here's to hoping!

I haven't had to remove it yet so I'm not sure how much of a PITA it'll be. It's just clamped to the bed rail so it shouldn't be too hard to remove with an extra set of hands or two.

Nice, what are your shackles set to in the back?

I have parts on order to level/lift my DCLB but was curious if the different weight distribution changed the level at all.

All stock 2008 4x4. Not so many around allowed me to score a nice shell and bedrug for $500 a few years back.

Curious what everyone paid for their long bed models? I'm looking at trading in my double cab for one with a long bed, it's a 2021 model in an army green, trd off road 1900 miles was a dealer car so technically pre owned certified, but has minor damage reported on car fax. Dealer says bumper had to be replaced. They want $44,500 for the truck which looked like msrp on a new model. And of course like every other stealership right now they won't budge on price

DSC_0002 (3).jpg Out the door I paid 43K for an SR DC longbed 4X4
Truck was 39K . The shortage has brought about a price increase but longbeds themselves are just hard to find.

I got mine off the dealer's lot in 2018 for right at MSRP of $38k... and I was dumping a rusty frame 2012 Tundra trade-in that they gave me $18k for and I was happy to drive away quickly.

Prob put $10k+ in upgrades though so far.

Had to repair this lift recently.

Great to see this thread continuing on!

I looked for a looooooong time to see who had steps, rails or sliders for the 8’ bed.

All I could find were the ones I have from Luverne.

    Good luck!
