54k with the bedliner and TRD off road package. Honestly there’s no tundras around here and I’m assuming msrp is what I’m gonna pay. Or else I won’t be getting a tundra because they go so quick. But I want one so if I have to pay a few grand more I’m good with that. Getting a really good deal on my Tacoma trade in too.

That’s by far the best price I’ve seen on one around here. If you like it and it’s the truck for you I’d grab it

Yep I may. Can’t get down there til tomorrow and it’s 2 hours away. Also need to get my deposit back from the other dealer if I do get it...just hope it’s not sold by tomorrow.

A 2019 1794 with 27,000 miles is listed for nearly $55,000 within an hour of here just for reference on your price of the new one being $54,000

Geez. I think I got a smoking deal on my 1794 when I bought it a couple years ago. I paid 36k out the door with like 33,000 miles on it. Granted it was a 2014. Also a 4x4.

I was going to buy a platinum but it just seemed boring being all black inside after I saw a 1794. Get the one that speaks to you!

What is advertised by a dealership is not necessarily the same as what is actually available. Or, the final price OTD.

I live in central Oregon and one Toyota dealership. The next nearest is 135 miles away. I visit their lot once a week or so, just out of curiosity. They are constantly advertising new Tundras for sale on their website, but I haven't seen a new one on the lot since October 2020. A few weeks back they had a '21 Lunar Rock Pro CM. Advertised at $55k. I called to schedule a view and test drive. Well, it turns out, that the Lunar Rock has been allocated to the dealership, but it isn't there. Deceptive? Absolutely. Perhaps they only want a down payment to reserve IF it comes in. Or perhaps they want a truck buyer to take one of their dozen or so used f150's off of their hands. Those things seem to be a dime a dozen.

Yeah if you cannot get a Pro for msrp I’m not buying it either. That’s crazy that dealers Mark these up so bad. I have never paid over msrp for my Pro’s.

To each their own - the Pro is a nice truck that fills a niche. Its resale is best among g a model that already excels in resale - but buy for need/want and not resale.

Here's my biggest issues with atinuns and 1794s.

    - platinum is well optioned, but at the same price point, you have options amongst the big 3 with even more options. Yes, Tundras reliability is best..but extended warranties can be bought and still keep price the same.

    - 1794 - I liked the interior, but its personal taste...and again if you like the look Ram Longhorn covers much the same territory and gives you more features.

For me - thats part of the deal with Tundras...I'm trading features for reliability. Of course your free to want both - but understand you will pay more and still get less features than a comparable price point on a big 3 higher trim.

The Limited is a nice option for those who want more features than an SR5 - and are willing to pay, but not wanting to spend North of 55k.

Regardless of which way you go - used is simply priced well beyond the norm these days. Sad when the difference in a 2 year old used truck with 30k miles is under 5% the cost of a new.

That dealer had a couple of Tundras that I was interested in. One of their sales people gave me a run around for three days trying to figure out if they had two trucks in stock that they were advertising. I finally ditched them and bought a truck through the same folks that sold me my 4Runner, Groove Toyota. Of course, they don't have any Pros for sale however.

People are obviously paying it. I would guess they are going to lose their ass at some point. I would probably jump right now and pay full MSRP but I am not paying a penny over.

I bought my SR5 TSS OR in December. At that time they did have a platinum and a 1794 in stock as well. One look in the 1794 was all it took for me..no way no how could I live with what I see as orange leather...looked to me like Halloween had an accident in the cab. The platinum and limited are nice, no doubt. But what really kept me at the SR5 trim level was not the price..it was the three knobs for the HVAC. I don't care how out of date they look...those three big knobs that can be operated without even looking at them trumped everything for me. This Boomer doesn't want to call IT support to change the fan speed! Plus the TSS Off Road package on a Silver truck looks just bada$$ to me.

This is the first time I have had auto climate control and I’ll never be without it again.

I hate auto climate control. Never use it. I want constant fan speed on me until/unless I adjust it myself. Speaking of which, I agree with the previous poster who complained about the fan speed adjustment button. It should be a KNOB.

Makes me wonder if Toyota is trying to set us up for the price hike of the new gen coming? Get us conditioned to a 60-70 thousand dollar Tundra. It’s an insane amount for a truck IMO.

I went by my dealership today. They actually had three Tundras. 1 new and 2 used. A 2018 Limited CM black. A bit scratched up, and probably 4/10. $46k. A 2019 1794. Looked like it had just arrived. No sticker and needed a bath. And, a gorgeous new '21 SR5 OR in magnetic gray. Lift, wheels and tires and an aggressive side step. $54K with the mods.

As I expected, the '21 Lunar Rock Pro that has been advertised on their site for the last 3 weeks, was not there. After walking the lot, I went inside to find the showroom being really bare (does that mean that all cars are in short supply?). I asked a salesman about the TRD Pro. Told him that I wanted to see it. He asked me for a moment and did the classic walk to the sales bull pen. Came back a few minutes later to tell me that the truck was already sold AND had not arrived yet.

I realize that dealerships are struggling right now. They cannot get vehicles to sell. However, keeping the advertisement for the '21 Lunar Rock Pro on their website, is just bullshit. Just a piece of click bait.

I am sure they are going to take advantage of the situation to do just that. I am sure they didn't plan the pandemic but they aren't going to let this opportunity go to waste. The Tundra is way under priced when compared to the competition when one compares apples to apples. I did a huge amount or research before I bought my Tundra. For the same thing in a Ford or GM/Chevy, except for a 360 camera and heads up display, the same Ford or Doge was 15k higher. GM or Chevy was even higher than that. I am sure you are right in that they are going to increase their prices.

Agreed. Our 2014 Mazda 5 has it and I love it. I was happy to see it on my 2021 Pro.

I wouldn't want to be in the market now..I bought my 19 1794 in Oct of 18.My first truck...had several suburbans and yukons... It has 35k miles. I have stripped all the chrome and am now on my 3rd suspension...about 3 inches.. 3rd sound system upgrade...other things too numerous to mention...I'd like to say I'm about done. The price point features and reliability were major selling points for me....and I loved the 1794 interior but not all the chrome.

Glad I'm not in the market for truck right and hope it stays that way. Got my 19 Platinum in Sept. 2019. Dealership was trying to move the leftover 19's and the truck I wanted had been driven by their GM and had 900 miles on it. With the discounts and $3k rebate they were offering at the time, I got it for $44k plus taxes. I can probably sell for more than that now, but then what would I get?

I bought my 2021 1794 in October of 20 and I cringe to think what it would cost right now. Very glad I have it, and paid what I paid for it just 6 months ago.

Crazy, isn’t it? I have a 17 and will probably look to upgrade in a couple years. Hopefully the new gen prices are reasonable and with some wiggle room.
