I think I will be getting a rear plate later on down the road. Getting my 10" BAMuffler friday and the Front Cat Shield next week. Thinking about deleting the rear cats all together, just want to hear what the BAMuffler is going to sound like without the resonator.

    More than a few.....
I been posting this all night. 20 bucks, slap it behind your muffler if your parking for a while. I used some magnets. If you so much as touch a cat or tap the tailpipe it goes off. Impossible not to set it off if they try to cut your pipes. I'm using this for another week or so. My Valhalla shield skids are due in this weekend but I may continue to use this too.

That looks great! Is that the 1/4" aluminum one? Also, are you going to get the rear plate that covers the other two cats?

This is the 1/4" aluminum, I dont think I will be getting the rear since the only convertor exposed is the passenger side. I do have a solution to cover it, just rather use that $350 for pedal commander than a 1/4" rear skid. I will post pics.

The exhaust must vary on trim models. Both of my rear cats are accessible.....I have the rear plate now.

I picked up my Valhalla’s Shield Cat Shields from Tyler, he’s located in Cypress. He makes a great product and is a great guy to deal with. I got both of his front and back uncoated Shields. I painted both with two coats of self etching primer and three coats of black rustolium. Since he was out of mounting hardware I had to go pick it up he helped me install them. They are super easy to install and with two people it took under 15 minutes. I’m looking forward to him gearing up with his front Skid plates, they are Fracking Nice!!!!!

I’m about three hours north of Houston in Waxahachie and got hit two nights ago while it was parked at my apartment. I guess they’re hitting all over Texas. The thieves took all 4 cats. Not looking forward to the wait for backordered parts, but what can you do? I placed an order for front and rear Valhalla skids in the hopes it’ll deter them next time. An ounce of prevention....

Damn man I hate to hear you got hit.

Took me 2.5 months before the dealers had them in and available. Toyota needs to do something better than what they are doing.

Sorry about your cats, I hate fucking thieves.

    Thanks

Thanks. I’m wondering if there are suitable, reliable, more readily available aftermarket cats? Or are the Toyota OEM cats the best for reliable, trouble-free computer and emissions issues?

I vote long tube headers, I mean since most everything is already pulled off.

When I talked with the dealer and with many muffler shops I was told to stick with OEM, aftermarket ones will throw codes and you will be chasing that forever.

Dang, South Toyota in Dallas told me they don’t know when they’ll have any in stock and Toyota of Richardson has a 4 to 5 month long wait. I can’t have my truck down for close to half a year. I tried calling Sparks Toyota, just to get another sense on the wait time, but they’re no longer answering their phone it seems. Are y’all choosing to wait that long for OEM?

Another local shop recommends Magnaflow’s aftermarket cats. Anyone have experience with those?

The dealers were buying them from Desert Eagle. Call the parts dept at Don McGill Toyota of Katy and ask for Frank. Tell him you are looking for the Desert Eagle plate and he will know exactly what you are talking about. Don McGill was one of the biggest buyers of the plates. 832-772-1000

My wife had hers stolen off her Sequoia in mid April. They told her it would be 6-8 weeks to get new ones. The dealership had 30 Tundras / Sequoias sitting on their lot waiting on converters. (That’s just one dealership.)
Surprisingly the converters showed up early (May 5th I believe.). Sounded like great news, and they got them installed. Unfortunately, once they got them installed they realized the computer got fried when the theft happened.
And....the computers are also on back order. They are hoping to have them in by the second or third week of June. So, just a heads up that some of you may also have this issue even when the converters come in. Might be a good idea to see if they can check it now and get ahead of it.
