No and those look to be the same length. Did you measure eye to eye?

Checked CV boots today. Passenger side is completely torn off the strap. Driver side still intact but looks like it’s close to tearing as well.

Did some research and I’m fairly sure my CV joint is damaged. There’s a vibration when I accelerate quickly/no vibration otherwise. Bummer

Morn’n all. So I’ve had this swirling in my head for a while now... what if I got the 700lb springs to replace the 650lb I originally ordered with the kings.

Would doing so keep my ride smooth while giving me more lift? How much of a lift you all think I could achieve this way?

Another thought was if it wouldn’t be better to simply lessen the preload on the shocks and rely mainly on the springs for lift... would this stiffen the ride, soften the ride, potential issues? Etc

    Thanks!

Proper spring will ride better than compressed more for more lift spring. Proper spring will have the lift you want and ride better. Which spring that is for your application? not sure on that. Someone here with a setup like yours that has it dialed in could chime in. Or call the off-road shops that deal with this and get their expert opinion.

Let's go back to your goals. What problem are you trying to fix or what are you hoping to achieve with the Kings?

I don't think changing the spring rate is going to give you more/less lift. It's just going to change the way it rides. If you are planning to run a bunch of weight up front(aftermarket bumper, winch, skids etc) it might make sense to go with the 700lb springs. Otherwise, leave it as is. When I added my BFF bumper I didn't notice a drop in ride quality with my 650lb springs.

Is there a spring that will allow him to keep the lift, but dial back the perch position?

Check out that Self-Greasing Frame. Looks rust free and well protected. :D(My boots did this too).

Ok good to know. Not planning on a bumper but skids and sliders are in my plans.

My goal was to eliminate any sag I would potentially have from the excess weight and I wouldn’t mind another 1” lift but not at the expense of maxing out the preload/having a terrible ride.

Mainly wondering if there’s a way to achieve about another 1” lift while not sacrificing ride quality.

Any time you add weight you are sacrificing ride quality. More weight equals more strain on all components. Balance of the truck is effected, as well.

Out of all the ‘lift threads’ (of which I am no expert) that I have read usually start with whats the best? How do I get? What will happen?

Basically, nobody knows exactly but in the end the truck changes and you’ll adapt.
