Any advice on this? I’ve been debating wrapping vs bedliner. Wrapping seems more cost effective and less messy. Any issues with window removal/re-install? Which wrap and how much? Thanks in advance!

Did front and rear diff oil change today. Tried to get the T-case done too but the fill plug is rounded off. Bummer but at least I checked it before I drained the T-case. I'll probably have to weld a nut to it tomorrow.

I had the dealership do a transmission flush at 95,000 miles and............
    Nothing bad happened.

I will do the pan drain, measure, and replace on a schedule from here on out with WS fluid. Thinking every 20K.

Yeah, dealership didn't want to drop the pan on mine at 158k, just wanted to charge an arm and a leg for a 4 qt drain and fill. I'll be dropping the pan today to check the magnets and change the filter myself. I wish they'd have been more open to doing while they had it for the timing belt/water pump last week. Oh well.

Dropped the pan on the trans. Holy shit the fluid was rough. And a third of the pan bolts were loose. Not even hand tight. Not sure who serviced this tranny last but they can step into my office because they are F'n fired.

Installed the Hewitt Technologies Gen II SAIS bypass kit today. I read the instructions a few days prior installation and it made it a breeze to do. Only took an hour and a half for everything! Super happy now.

    Any issues with broken bolts?

Do our trans have strainers or filters?

No broken bolts, just super loose ones. Lucky I didn't loose any. I do believe that the filter is actually just a strainer in these. I'm replacing it as well.

What's the benefit of a pan drop on these? Just replacing the strainer?

Mostly to check the four magnets in the pan to see what's stuck to them. Hopefully only metallic "dust" and no chunks. Also good to replace the old crusty pan gasket. In my case I'd have never found the loose pan bolts either. Piece of mind mostly.

I didn't know we had a gasket. Part no?

What temp did you set the fluid level?

Not sure on part number for the gasket. I ordered a Wix kit with filter plus a gasket for an A750f transmission. The Wix filter is an actual filter not a strainer like OEM. Not saying anything is wrong with OEM but I trust that the Wix stuff will be great. Both the filter and gasket fit perfect. I prefer the rubber Wix gasket over the cork OEM actually. I will finish the flush tomorrow morning. I'll set fluid level when temp reaches 120f. Verified by Torque app on my phone Bluetoothed from OBDii port and an infrared thermometer for backup.

    Thanks fellas!

I have done two drain/fills with genuine WS separated by a few hundred miles. I had debated dropping the pan, but I've seen a few horror stories on here about pan bolts breaking off flush, not sure it is worth the risk. I am a big fan of drain and fills to put fresh additives in the mix and to remove 1/3 of contaminates at a time.

This is the before and after on my first one, straight brown at 50,000 miles.
    20210222_221831.jpg

I've also checked the fluid at 120 degrees using torque, I've just seen conflicting numbers on what spec is for the level check.

I don't think that it matters that this is from 2007, but you can read through it and apply the information that you feel is relevant.

Did repeated drain and fills on my transmission with Valvoline full synthetic on until it came out red. Took a long time, the truck had to have been on the original fill of WS and it was pretty dark brown at 158k. She is shifting really nice now though with fresh fluid, and a Wix filter. Also swapped out reverse lights to LED tonight.
