I recently bought a 2006 tundra xsp dbl cab. It has 82,000 miles. My one problem is gear shifting. If I shift from reverse to drive in a normal fashion, there ia about a 5 second delay before it engages in drive. Other shifts are normal.. But if I quickly pull the lever straight down, there is no delay. I had a transmission shop to check the transmission and the fluid level was good. Their only suggestion was to talk to the dealer. I talked to the service manager and he said a lot of tundras do that and it is not a problem. He said that no service bulletins had been issued. After searching youtube, I am sure it is not normal. I can live with the condition as long as I remember to quickly pull down from reverse to drive, but If i forget when I am backing into traffic it could be dangerous. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 2002 tundra that is probably the best vehicle I have owned . I am now 83. After 188,000 miles the only non scheduled maintenance was an oxygen sensor that was replaced at approximately 100,000 miles.
