Tried searching for this info but was unsuccessful. When purchasing my truck the sales staff wanted to charge a considerable amount for the factory alarm (don't recall exactly how much). It was enough that I opted against it, but then when I walked out to take possession of the truck I had to wait for someone to come out with a screwdriver to apparently turn off the alarm that appeared to have already been added. At the time I was so excited about the new truck that I didn't even think to ask what they were going to charge me additional for if the system was already present in the vehicle.

Has anyone else had this experience? Does it appear that the factory alarm system is actually present? Did they actually disconnect it somehow or was that maybe for show after trying to get some extra $$ out of me for nothing?

Your truck has a factory alarm. I would raise hell with Toyota corporate about a dealer trying to charge you for it. The device that is attached is not factory. That looks like a GPS tracker so that they can see it if the vehicle was to get stolen from the lot.

Yeah, that thing in the second picture is definitely NOT factory. I do have the factory alarm system and I've got the same sticker and everything.

Now that I looked at it again, since when does a dealer put holes in a new vehicle? I would be pissed and make them replace that panel....I don't care if the holes are at the bottom or not....they are there.

I have a service appointment next week and will be asking some very uncomfortable questions.

Very true, and I didn't even think about that. THAT would royally piss me off if it were brand new.
