LOL! You must be getting ready to deep clean that beast. Make sure you post pics once you are finished. Any upgrades lately? I've been so busy that mine has gotten no attention:(

It’s due for a good cleaning, but the weather has alternated between raining or hot as hades. Haven’t done much detailing at all lately.
No new upgrades in a while. I did tell her a stereo upgrade is going to happen whether she likes it or not. Can’t stand the factory system.

Are you using a speedometer calibrator? If so, what brand and model? I've been searching, but with no luck. :-(

My wife has been working on making decals for the grill letters. She’s not completely happy with it, but I think it looks great.

I plan to do the same. Any tips? Do you just tape the main outline of the badge and then peel the extra off? Thanks!

I actually took them off to do it. Others have done what you mentioned, but I wasn’t confident I could get it right.

Don’t know if anyone has seen these yet, but I finally found some black Platinum badges for the Sequoia. I’ll update on quality once I get them.

Hi War Machine, on your wifes sequoia, where did you get the rear hatch key and license plate light cover(that says SEQUOIA) and toyota emblem in black?
i cant find them anywhere, and the hatch cover is usually over $200 just for another chrome one.... thanks....
i tried to plastiddip mine and it doesn't look good.... the emblems do look good plastidipped, but that part i think is too big for it to look smooth...
    yours looks great

FWIW, the key to Plasti-dipping is multiple super light coats (like 10-12 coats).
I'm talking coats that you may feel weren't even worth doing.....just fine, fine misting sprays until it starts to cover and then you can use heavier ones to your liking.

thank you for the input, i did 5 light coats, maybe not light enough, it looks fine on the Sequoia lettering, but the chrome surround you see a ripple(1st pic).I used the all in one glossy Plastidip, not the matte one.
the emblems look great with the glossy plastidip, and the purchased gloss black mirror caps and door handles were perfect and easy to install..
now i just need the TRD pro Grill and the LED headlights!! maybe blackout the wheels too..

I see what you mean, just a little rough. I used matte black
    [IMG]

I got the black handles and mirror covers as well. Too much work to plasti-dip and I feel like it would wear of the handle and the mirrors would chip off from the road debris. TRD grill totally changes the truck!!

Farnsrocket, I agree, don't plastidip the handles....i think ill try the matte black plastidip on the rear tailgate, that looks good....
That grill is AMAZING!!! such a great upgrade....is your truck the 202 black or 218 metallic black?
Did you have to get the grill painted to match?
I was thinking about the tow hooks too, those look great. maybe on the rear too...
Removing the running boards looks good too...makes it look taller and more off road style...
is your roof rack a tent?
    I assume you have a lift? 3 "?
Whats your rim width and offset? Tire size?
You have a great looking set up..
    Thanks

    Thank you!
Well now you have me second guessing my color :frusty: :D I wanna say the grill is 218 metallic and my truck is 202.........you can't tell the difference unless you get right up to it in the sun.

Here are the tow hook brackets I used. I have a single tow hook in my hitch.

Thank you for the info, Dont worry about the color, LOL..from what i have found the grill only came in 218 blk...
cool that it doesnt look much different than the 202....
there are not anymore 218 blks around, its a 3 to 6 month back order so i might get a different color one and paint it to match.. or wait 6 months...: (

It’s been a while, so please double check before ordering, but I believe the part number is
768010c040c1. Pretty sure I got it from Toyota of Cool Springs but that source isn’t available anymore.
The Toyota emblem was part of an overlay kit I’d gotten somewhere but I’ll have to dig to see if I can find which one. I do remember it being pretty expensive to do all of that but was the easiest and most durable path.

Also, for the Platinum badges I got some of these in. I haven’t put them on yet, but they are really good quality.

For what it’s worth, I had to get a black Pro Grill and have the surround painted. Only cost me 100 bucks to have the surround and mirror caps painted Blizzard Pearl.

Don’t sweat it. No issue at all having an evolving discussion about Sequoia mods on a Sequoia mod thread.
