    Haha, damn cats!
I hear you on the spending thing, but I just sold two AMGs and a GTI, and my Stumpjumper is as dialed as can be, so the truck is the beneficiary of those freed up expenses.

The Fox 2.0s would be fine, if you can find them. About the only thing you can get right now in the lower price range is the Bilsteins, until they run out, or the Eibachs, until they run out.

I don’t know what you’ll find in stock but there’s tons of info on the 6112 and 5160 combo. They are coil over not spacer lift and they’re usually used with about 2 inches of lift

Also don’t rule out ome and dobinsons and Ironman foam cells.

But stick to the shorter coils because apparently the 3 inch lift coils give more people like 5 inches

The Bilstein 6112s and 5100s are semi adjustable. They have grooves with a circlip that holds the lower perch in place at 4 different settings. You can reuse the stock spring or get a new one with the kit prebuilt with a new top hat. Most Tundras experience a driver's side lean, especially when swapping to aftermarket suspension, so most folks throw a 1/4" spacer on the driver's side to even it out. The Eibach 2.0s are a true coilover, and can be adjusted to account for the lean.
A 2" lift/level and going up to a 275/70/18 tire will net you about 3" total increase in the front and 1" in the rear.

Had Fox 2.0s and Bilstein in the past. The Falcons provide a far better ride.

Here are the eibach 2.0’s $850
    https://www.stage3motorsports.com/e86-82-067-01-20-07-20-tundra-eibach-20-front-coilovers-0-25-lift.html
Bilstein 6112 seems pretty back ordered, I got mine a few weeks ago and in that time have gone back out of stock.

Old Man Emu 612 coils and nitro charger struts assembled coil overs $681 Toytec/Eibach assembled coil overs 2” or 3” lift $512 Lots of other options and rear options to go along but those are easier to find in stock than the front options. A few of the above options have been out of stock a while so might be limited stock

I have kings front and rear regular 2.5's no adjusters, I'm very happy with them and I had them rebuilt after 4 years because 1 rear shock was leaking due to my abuse and not having shock boots to protect the shafts, lesson learned there. They ride smooth and plush on the pavement, off-road at high speeds it is so comfortable and makes me want to go faster.

I think the main difference is the $850 ones are fully adjustable with a threaded sleeve for more incremental and easier changes in ride height. The $512 setup has about 4 height levels or notches to choose from. I would guess very similar ride quality and feel so it comes down to budget and how easily you might want to change the lift height.

edit: the $512 ones you choose 2” or 3” of lift height and could add CB shims for .5” increments of lift to address drivers side lean etc.

The 2.0s also use a larger shock body.

The bilstein 6112 is a larger body strut and on these heavy trucks I believe it provides better damping and control over the fox 2.0. I personally prefer the simple replacement style strut like the bilstein over the “rebuild” style of the fox.

I’ve only had old man emu nitrocharger and bilstein 5160 shocks on the Tundra and both are good. A lot might depend on how much lift you are planning on in the rear. Most rear shocks for the tundra are 2.0 shock body including the 5160 so personally I think you could go with eibach or bilstein, OME, dobinsons etc and be pretty happy. Rear lift or staying stock?

For the most part any tire larger than stock you will need to trim the skid plate “wings”. I had 4” of lift and only 1” taller tires and it rubbed the skid

I think I am between these and 6112's...definitely ditching the 5100 idea for the front.

called a local place today and they recommended a bds 3/2 lift. spacer and blocks in rear. They would do something for dif drop. Said ride would stay the same with factory shocks. It seems to me it would ride worse. Any opinions are appreciated

Spacers and blocks definitely won't ride the same as stock. It will ride harsher, you'll lose travel which could potentially bend or break the shocks, and at 3" front you'll more than likely need UCAs to get the alignment back in spec.
That's a budget friendly appearance mod, but not necessarily a suspension upgrade.

Yea don’t do it!! You will just fatigue the stock suspension quicker and not be happy with the ride and handling. If your paying for all the labor either way just get it done right the first time. Any of the suspension upgrades people here have recommended will be far better than spacer/block lift. Then your struts and shocks will be good to go for a while as well.

Bumping this up with a question.

So I got an estimate of about $1,300 for 6112's installed by my local shop, I think excluding alignment, which I think i will need.

That estimate seems ok to me, so I told them to order them.

I have no idea whether they will order them pre-assembled, or plan to assemble them at the shop.

But I wonder about the "top cap" I think it is that Bilstein does not include with the 6112's?

Do you think my shop is aware of this?

Not quite sure if I am even calling it the right thing...I am going to stop by there next week, since I want to ask them about whether they an even get the shocks or how long a wait I am looking at, and want to ask about that "missing" part without sounding like an asshole.

As always your expertise is greatly appreciated.

    SPP
