I wonder if the hill they were going down was frozen and they just slid all the way down and couldn't stop. Makes me think twice about doing a snow run.

That's a good idea. I read one of the comments that said it was icy so they all slid into each other.

Hey guys. I've recently joined this forum after getting my truck about a year ago. 2020 trd pro with a coach builder kit and cooper 295's. I'm new to off roading and have learned a lot just reading through this thread. I'm in sac area and hope to keep modding my truck up to be able to join you guys on some of the harder trails. Fow now though I'll split my spare time with a 99 v70 I'm working on as well but if/when a meetup gets scheduled again or a get together for a trail my setup could handle I'm in.

@raymond_hb You can post on here and see if anyone has recommendations for you or wants to go out and explore with you. Also checkout websites like funtreks.com and alltrails.com since you are 2WD I'd recommend you only look at easy trails.
    https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/california/the-old-coast-road
    https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/california/bartlett-springs-road

SVRAs are also a good option, http://www.ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1170 . You aren't that far away from Carnegie SVRA, I haven't been so can't comment on how much is 2WD friendly. Hollister Hills SVRA is pretty big and you can do quite a bit in 2WD, but it's also easy to run into an area where you'll be stuck without 4WD.

Thanks so much Matthew it’s honestly real nice to see actual Bay Area folks post on here. For the moment I’ve looked into AllTrails since I also use it for hiking but many reviews for off road seem a bit old or vague. I’ll definitely use the other tools you mentioned and I’m looking into the book someone posted on here in the beginning. For now, I’ll try and milk that stock anywhere that I can until I’m able to put some money into it

Edit: I am as inexperienced as I can be when it comes to off-roading/backroads, most of my research a sticker keeps getting mentioned. Can anyone give me an insight on that? Like I said my car is 100% stock aside from the all-terrain tires and even that is stock size. But even so I’d like to make this a hobby so any info on backroads/fire roads/2wd friendly off roads and any permits or stickers required will be greatly appreciated

Are you referring to an OHV red or green sticker? If so, that's only for non street legal vehicles like dirt bikes, quads, sxs, and buggies. You don't need any sticker to off road in your tundra
