We have a big community of off roaders here in Arizona, so why not get together and get to know each other a little bit? Check back here regularly for upcoming events, whether it be "coffee and rigs" or trail runs. Post suggestions in the thread and I will try to keep on top of maintaining this OP.

I know its tough for the Phx guys, no worries we'll figure something out later this month or definitely October! I'm thinking Brushfire BBQ or Old Chicago Pizza off Campbell in Tucson for the next meet on Monday 9/12. Lets say 5:30-8pm again or show up anywhere in-between. Throw out your votes on which one and lets make it official (old Chicago does have a better parking lot for a meet).

    OP UPDATED!
Post your votes on which place you'd prefer for Monday 9/12 from 530-8pm

    BrushFire BBQ

    2745 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719

    OR

    Old Chicago Pizza
    2960 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719

About 9am on the 21st, I plan to run Bulldog Canyon Trail with a few TacomaWorld Members along with any others interested. You do need a permit to run the trail which can be found HERE . Meet point is in the little parking lot HERE The trail will lead out to Bush Hwy and from there it's about a 10 minute drive to Butcher Jones Recreation Site. Should arrive just before or close to Noon to begin setting up. That's all optional for those that wanna sleep in ;)

At the Butcher Jones Recreation Site, we'll BBQ and bring some games like bags and such. Please BYOB, drinks, and food, but I'll have a grill for use. Should be a good time checking out everyone's rigs! Once we pack up, for those that either didn't wheel in the morning or just want more trail time, I plan to lead another run through Butcher Jones to the coves and back out to 4 Peaks Road. Bring your family, dogs, and friends!

So this is plenty of notice for me, thanks Stephen. I'll put it on the calander and plan to meet up there. Sounds like a great day! I'll add the link you sent me on Arizona Tundras Facebook page too, maybe we can attract some new peeps.

Mini Mod Day at my house Saturday

I have some tools, I have some parts, and I have some beer - but the more of each, the better. We'll probably start my brother's shock swap around 8 am, so come over anytime around then. I'll grill some hotdogs and hamburgers for lunch. Post-install shakedown run will be at Butcher Jones and Sycamore Creek in the afternoon/evening/maybe Sunday morning if it all goes pear shaped.

October 21st at 8AM we will meet at Circle K off of Tanque Verde at the following address:
    11271 E Tanque Verde Rd
    Tucson, AZ 85749

From here we'll head out no later than 0830 and continue East to Redington Pass Road. There are 2 entrances for the Chiva Falls Trail. Each trail will test you, but we confirmed a 2wd Tundra on 34" mud terrain tires and a 2" lift can make it to the camping location using the second entrance aka "2wd" route. This route bypasses a large 4x4 section and a difficult obstacle, then junctions with the original trail near a wash where camp will be. I highly recommend minimum 2-2.5" lift and some good offroad tires for everyone.

The first entrance or "4x4" route leading up to Chiva Falls and back out will absolutely require 2-2.5" minimum lift, offroad experience, listening to your spotter, willingness to accept AZ pinstripes, and some front and rear bumper dragging. This trail gets pretty tight and is not for the fainthearted. I also recommend sliders, especially for those sitting right at 2-2.5". Within the first quarter mile of this route off of Redington Road is a challenging obstacle called 3 Feathers. This obstacle can be extremely difficult for our long wheel base Tundras if less than 2.5" of lift. Sliders will help with that but then the rear differential can get hung up. I currently have sliders and 3" of lift and made it through with ease.

Other than that, Chiva Falls is truly an Oasis in the desert even though it isn't currently running. There was a small trickle coming down, but it's still a great trail to experience. The weather unfortunately is still pretty mild, forecast says about 86 for the high, but low 50's for the low  Hope to see some of you soon!

You’re making me miss Tucson. Used to ditch class with some girls and go up there with some beer fairly often when in high school. Rincons, back side of mt lemon, Santaritas, Gates pass, damn lot of beautiful country! I hope you’re bringing shotguns, this used to be some great quail country too. Send some pictures of the ride.
