I didn’t receive anything from Toyota telling me the part was in I kept reaching out to the dealer in order to stay on their radar

Yes, it is due to the maker of the fuel pump. We own a 2019 Highlander that is affected by the recall but so far, my 2020 Tundra (5.7L/ 38 gal tank) is not....

And get the recalls done, my MIL’s Highlander abruptly shut off on the highway. Fortunately, she managed to get off the road with getting in a wreck.

Also, for the turn signals, previously it always seemed like no one saw my turn signals. I don’t notice that anymore.

Just had this done this morning at the dealership - took over 3.5 hours. Got the truck back and had to stop at the gas station on the way home as you have to go with less than a quarter tank. I tried to fill up the tank and would only let me get ten gallons in before the pump shut off.....wouldn’t let me put any more gas in. Drive it for another two miles and stopped at another gas station and was able to fill it up all the way. I guess there may have been some air in the tank or things had to settle?????? I never had one issue previously. Hopefully this doesn’t become a consistent issue or it’s going right back.

I have a 2019 Tundra with 73k miles, and it does not qualify for the recall. But is having the same issues as the other ones recalled. My VIN does not qualify. I don't know what to do.

I just had mine replaced because it wasn't starting like it should. I took it to the dealer and they replaced it for free. They told me that Toyota extended the warranty on the fuel pumps to 8 years or 80 thousand miles. But mine is flex fuel. They never said anything about a recall.

I called Toyota headquarters and they only offer 60k miles or 5 years whatever comes first. Mine was doing it about a month ago and replaced the battery thinking it was that, but today in the morning, it did not start at all It kept cranking, finally, after 3 tries it came on and sounded like it was bogging down. I always wonder what was affected by the pump. what causes the pump to malfunction they never disclosed this information. How many miles does your truck have?

I have 75 thousand on it. Yeah that sounds just like what mine was doing. I thought it was the starter but when I took it in the advisor said he knew what it was by the way I described it. Try another dealership.

They did the same to me. I just got my truck back. Here is all they did. Did not cost me anything. I am not sure why the ECM software update.

I'm glad you were able to get this done. I reckon they had to reprogram the ECM for the new fuel pump.
