About to throw on some fender flares and was wondering if anyone here has had problems with premature rust due to the flares? Also what prep work yall did prior to install and if it helped?

My truck came from Texas with them on. When I removed them there was a build up of dirt/dust plastered to the paint. If I were you I would wash the truck and put a good polish or wax on the area first.

I too recently purchase a set of Bushwackers and while I haven't heard of any rust issues, I have seen some who's paint under the lip of the flares that has show some wear. It has been suggested to me to have some sort of clear bra material applied to the fenders to prevent that from happening.

Thats a good idea, I just saw someones Tundra that had the whole front end "clearbra'd", you couldn't even tell it was there.
