    So the other day my wife and I decided to buy a new range and fridge. Aside from a washer/dryer set, they're literally the first new set of appliances we've purchased, ever, and I'm 45. LOL

    So we settled on a set from Samsung. (In the past I've not at all been the biggest fan of Samsung appliances, but their stuff has gotten more reliable statistically, and others less so.) We put it on order last Saturday.

    Fast forward to yesterday around noon; wife and I have been battling a cold for a few days and yesterday it went full retard on us, leaving us with pounding heads and 102 temperatures. I called Lowes to reschedule.

    I heard nothing back, and so I called them again today. "Oh we're sorry sir, they're on their way and they should be there in about 30 minutes." :frusty:

    They finally to let me know they're almost here and I tell that we'll make sure to mask up because we've got temps. "Whoa whoa hey hey hey now, I ain't want all that mess, let's just reschedule." :D (I don't blame the guy.) So they inform me that I need to call Lowes.

    I call Lowes and they very nicely but condescendingly tell me that "a third party does all the delivery logistics, you'll have to call them."

    We call said third party and said third party very nicely tell us that "yes, we do the delivery, but we don't cut the service orders, LOWES does that, and we'll need to talk to Lowes." :facepalm:

    So we ask who we can talk to that can help us get this taken care of. "Oh, well, the deliveries manager can...but they're on leave today." :rant:

    We shall see what tomorrow's discussion with the 'deliveries manager' brings.

    Sounds about right. I’d tell ya the appliance hell I’ve been through the last year but I’m sick of talking about it. Just call Lowe’s and try an get the manager if he is no help move up a boss till you get someone that can help you.

    When we ordered our new stove from a local store, they called us a day or two before delivery was scheduled to check if we had any symptoms. Ended up having to reschedule once for another reason and they were super easy to get hold of.

    several reasons

    1 he carries speed queen we don’t

    2. He has them in boxes ready to deliver

    I’ve ordered washer/dryer online from Goedeker’s and a new kitchens worth of stuff from AJ Madison online because the prices were so much better than even the big box stores. Both were great experiences. The refrigerator they delivered was banged up and they sent another right away.

    I got a new washer from Lowes last summer when we moved into our new house.

    Before placing the order with Lowes, I somehow ended up on a website then on the phone with a shady appliance company.

    It took six months to get my money back from those thieves, including multiple attempts through Chase Bank credit card, multiple complaints with the BBB, etc.

    In hindsight Lowes made it easy compared to all that.

    Shady AF we canceled the whole order last week after 6 months of hell. If I make it up that way in GA I got a flaming bag of poo waiting for them.

    I realized something was wrong within 24 hours, tried to cancel.

    One of their scams is they create a tracking number as soon as you order, which we all know means nothing was actually shipped, then when I cancelled the order they charged me like $400 for shipping, which of course was originally free.

    Even when they agreed in writing on the BBB website, they did not refund my money and I had to re-open the case.

    That's what I thought....but we actually got tested for both at the local clinic, and it's negative for both. *shrug* I dunno what it is, but it ain't those two. LOL

    Oh it'll go fine, honestly. I've actually seen my fridge/range in the box and all that...we just weren't prepared to take delivery that day because honestly, we walked into the store 'to look' and ended up buying them. LOL

    Organization ain't their strong suit, but we've never been totally screwed over. With that said, if I hear anything other than "Yessir, we'll get that rescheduled for you right away" when I call tomorrow, I will indeed cancel the order.

    In our case, I won't say that we don't have choices (Lowes, Menards, Best Buy, Home Depot, etc.) but given where I live (right outside Ft. Leonard Wood, MO), Lowes is 15 miles away, Menards about the same, and Best Buy/Home Depot are about an hour away. (There's a reason they call the post near me "Ft. Lost in the Woods. LOL)

    So I figured I'd give Lowes a chance first; but if they screw me over, I'll have no issues purchasing from one of the other 3.

    Costco is by far the best on that list. I try to order all electronics through Costco. Deliveries always on time, if you ever have a problem they are the easiest to deal with.

    You and me both. I actually buy American before buying from Eastern Canada.

    That said, we ordered our dishwwasher from Costco, but that was mainly due to availability. They do have an excellent warranty which was a nice bonus.

    When we end up replacing our washer and dryer, we'll be shopping at the local indpendent appliance shop and buying Speed Queen. Made in America, sold locally. :)

    Yes they assign a single person to your case and it makes it much easier to deal with issues. Ordered a fridge from them and Samsung delivered a broke one three times. Costco had our back the whole process.

    @Kung I’ve bought my last three sets of appliances from Lowe’s. Back in the days when they have out 10% coupons left and right, and honored them on appliances :D

    I haven’t had any issues and I’d suggest getting their extended warranty. It’s cheap for what you get, and I’ve had to use them a couple times. Making a claim was easy and they sent out a factory tech each time to handle the repair.

    Oh hell yes, we definitely bought their extended warranty for this. We have one on our dishwasher; and we needed it to replace the $375 (!!) motherboard. It took 3 weeks due to the silicon shortage, but they replaced it. :)
