So what’s the low down on changing a non intermittent wiper switch assembly over to a intermittent wiper assembly? And how do you take the bezel off the steering colum ?

To remove the bezel, center the steering wheel. Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees either direction and look at the column straight on. There will be a screw. Remove it. Now turn the steering wheel 90 degrees from center the other direction and remove that screw. The bezel will now separate. As I recall, there is one screw that holds the switch in place. There is an electrical connector that has to be separated. I was concerned that the clip would break as far as I had to move the retainer, but it didn't. Other than that, it is just a matter of replacing the part.

Well thank you for the great help. Did what uncle Charlie had said and removal and install went super easy And it works great.the only Blind spot is there is a tab on the front side that you need to push in with a small flat blade screwdriver gently to unclip unit from Column. If you try to pull it off with out doing that you’ll cause a huge amount of damage. Thanks again everyone for tour help. Saved me a bunch of money . And I used a original Toyota switch not aftermarket.

2014 Tundra SR - Can I replace the wiper switch on the steering column with one that has intermittent option, if my gear shift is also on the steering column? Will the wiper switch with intermittent option fit? I cannot find anywhere the dimensions of the wiper switch with intermittent option. Thanks in advance.

Hey EastGuy, follow my instructions that we’re perfect from fellow friends on here. Super easy and super clean install. Literally plug and play. Use only Stock factory Toyota parts. Mine has the gear shifter on colum too. It’s a great feeling having this switch versus the low end version. Love it

Part 84652-02710 works great in my 2020 Tundra SR 4x4 Long Bed with worktruck package (BX) that came with non-intermittent wipers. The only slightly tricky part was pressing on the tongue of the retaining clip. This is the tongue part that is on the new wiper stalk. Press it with a screw driver and wiggle the wiper stalk off.

Note that there is also a 845652-02610 that seems to go with older vehicles, but I was never able to for sure determine the difference from the -02710.

Yep...Might as well add the automatic head light switch and the lighted key switch while you're in there. :D

Bammer, I called Sparks Toyota to confirm. I was told it would be direct swap for the 2 speed unit on my 2021 SR. I bought one and hadn’t had the opportunity to do the swap when I was involved in an accident and incredibly they totaled my truck. I couldn’t find a comparable SR so I picked up an SR5.
I have the switch. I can make you a killer deal on it if you want it.

Terrence, I'm definitely interested in the switch. I just created this account last night so you'll have to tell me how we proceed from here.

So this is an older thread, but I just bought a 2018 SR from a friend and didn’t like the 2 position switch. Got an intermittent switch from a local wreaking yard and with the help of this group, just installed it. Easy… and thanks!

Just ordered mine today. I can't tell you how pissed I would get every time it rains and I'm driving the truck.

Does anyone know if it gives you few wipes when you spray the windshield cleaner? That's another thing that really grinds my gears....

AFAIK when u hit the washerfluid it does give you a few wipes... but not sure if thats a standard or not.. I did'nt even think that intermittent wipers were an option.

Hard to believe isn't it.... I installed the new switch, it took more time to round up the tools than the install took.

Great thread. Looked up which models this switch fits and it lists "2014 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition, Limited, Platinum, SR, SR5". Recently purchased my 2014 Tundra used - looks like a service vehicle given the lack of emblems - manual does not indicate anything other than, 'Tundra'. How do I determine what model I have (2014 4x4 long bed) to determine if I can install this upgrade?

If you dont have intermittent wipers it has to be an SR as SR5 it came standard (AFAIK). I dont think the SR had badges anywhere. If you make an account on toyota.com/owners and put in your VIN it will give you your truck specs though
