After over a year of searching for a Sequoia, we finally found the perfect one for us. Was not an easy feat.

    IMG_2549.jpg

Traded in our 2014 Elantra, definitely needed more space. Great little car but we outgrew it.
    IMG_2547.jpg

First upgrade was the TRDpro grille, just installed this past weekend. Went pretty good after I finally mustered up the courage to just pry it off. The outer left and right clips attached to the old grille both snapped off but the new grille has the clips so no worries there.
    IMG_3063.jpg

Cleaned up and ready for install:
    IMG_3065.jpg

The new grille requires two screws to fasten the molding trim piece to the actual grille, which I salvaged from the old grille, pretty sure they are the exact screws you need.
    IMG_3068.jpg

Took about 30 minutes, 15 of those were me being to scared to just yank the old one off. Once the far left and right clips release or in my case broke off, the middle clips are different and released without issue. There are 10 or so bolts to remove as well. Again, the new grille comes with the far left and right clips, at least mine did.
    IMG_3076.jpg

Super happy with the results, looks like a totally different vehicle.

Pretty expensive upgrade up here in Canada but it's much needed in my opinion and truly updates the look.

Also, ordered the 4runner black "Limited" badges to replace the chrome badges but one came scratched. Sparks is looking after me though and already sent out a replacement! Ordered the blackout kit as well just to get the rear logo. Too bad you can't just order the logo's individually as I only need the rear now that I installed the TRD grille. Wish they had an overlay for the iforce emblem on the liftgate, might just pull that one off completely.

We went with a set of 275/70R18 KO2's but I'm still waiting on the Evocorse, DakarZero18's in matte black to show up, I ordered them back late January but it was for the shops spring order so hopefully they come in soon, I can't wait!

    IMG_2903.jpg

    IMG_2902.jpg

Rear window already came in handy! Literally wedged right up to the armrest and only had enough room to close the hatch if the window was down. Wife was impressed as was I.
    IMG_3061.jpg

I'd like to lift it one day and get some bigger tires as well as the Tandem Auburn Select-A-Loc but can't justify it at the moment. Can't wait to do more, just need some $$$

Looks great. Can't wait to see the new wheels mounted. What color is it, btw? In some shots it looks like it is black and others a dark gray/charcoal.

Thanks! We picked it up at 100,000kms, it’s the Magnetic Grey Metallic colour (1G3). It does look black in some of the sunny day pictures, especially after the grille update.

Still planning on removing the remainder of the chrome, kind of like it on the handles though but definitely want to colour match or black out the mirrors and the sequoia panel on the lift gate.

Also, change out all the interior lights and the few exterior, keeping the headlights as is.

My TRD Pro grill and bulge arrived today! I ordered those screws and 5 clips from the dealer but it's good to hear you salvaged the old ones....maybe I can install it tonight!!!!
I too have a set of 275/70/18 tires sitting in my garage........Venom Power tires. I am waiting for my 18x9 Titanium Method 316's to finally ship by the end of the month hopefully!
I also ordered a Dobinson 1.75" lift kit which should come sometime in April!

Got the grill installed last night. Your pics helped me out. I was able to get the old one off without breaking any clips. Sure enough, 2 screws from the bottom of the old grill worked to connect the new grill and bulge together. Thanks man!

Do you have a link to the lights in the grill? I’ve seen quite a few options just not sure what will fit up correctly. Thanks

Nice, Mine too. We were able to fit a dog crate and dog, double jogging stroller, 3 kids, and all our gear on a 13 hour road trip to Florida in April. I was really hoping something wouldn’t fit so that I had an excuse to get a roof basket but the interior is just so dang big and functional!

My Limited "4runner" badges in black came in finally. If anyone was hesitant on ordering through Sparks, let me say they are awesome with their customer support and really helped me out with an issue that was no fault of theirs.

One of the emblems came damaged in the first shipment with the grille pieces, then the replacement came damaged, minor but enough that I didn't want to install it then it bug me every time I looked at it. This was understandable as it's a plastic part and it was travelling all the way from South Carolina to Ontario Canada.

They sent me a 3rd emblem was wrapped like a burrito and was perfectly unscathed.

I still haven't found the time to remove the old emblem or how I'm going to go about it but I just wanted to share my experience with Sparks.

    still waiting on wheeeeeels...

    So the wheels finally came...

They look better than I imagined but... there are a few issues.

I guess there was some confusion because I wanted the matte black finish but was sent glossy. Do they look sweet? Hell yes they do, maybe ai like them more in glossy but there are already micro scratches all over them, maybe they won’t be noticeable outside but this was a big reason I wanted matte.

The other issue and to be honest I saw it coming... two of them are damaged! A gouge on the outer front edge and the other is a bad scrape along the back of the wheel. I could deal with the damage that cant be seen but the front one is awful and I hope they are quick to reship. This sucks but they sure are nice!

Yeah that’s pretty shitty for the front damage. Are you able to get matte finish.......was it their mistake? I’d definitely send em back for matte if they messed up........might as well if you’re sending the damaged ones back.
I will say my Methods shipped with plastic rim protectors on the front and back of the rims, foam wrapping and several layers of protection. You would think all wheel companies would be as careful!

Evo offers matte as a standard, no option on the site I dealt with but I requested a few times over email. Evo recommends carefully cleaning the matte finish as too aggressive, you can actually polish the matte to glossy. So there’s that and to be honest I’m really happy with the glossy and maybe it was meant to be. Hard to say without seeing both in person though. The glossy finish does seem high maintenance though.

The dealer responded earlier today and asked what I wanted to do. I gave him a few options but I’m hoping they go with the third option I gave.

Since I already made an appointment to have them mounted for later today I’m hoping they would be willing to just send me a fresh wheel to which I can change out at my leisure and I will keep the damaged one. Thats the least inconvenient, best case for me.

Hey, you are in Durham area! that's my Shoppers at Harmony and Taunton for meds lol.

Finding a Sequoia in Ontario that doesn't have 300k km is a challenge, I think it'll look sweet with those wheels.

Nice, haha! Sweet Truck, my 2nd favourite colour! I had a guy run up to me at Sobeys and ask about where I got my grille, he had a newer platinum model. Don't see many around, there's one just south of Taunton on Ritson that has the Tundra conversion. Did a double take when I saw that.

Ah yes, the white one, it caught me off guard first time I saw it.

There was a short drive couple weeks ago on Boundary road and went to Hogsback, you should check Tacoma World Ontario section, its very active there.

We love hitting up Boundry from time to time, especially in the winter! Thanks for the recommendations.
