Hey guys with all this textured black plastic used on the SR5 mirrors and bumpers what is the best stuff to protect it from turning grey?
Something other than 303 which works great on the inside but washes off the outside in the rain. Looking for something long lasting.

I'd really like to try CarPro Perl, but all the reasonable sizes are sold out. I think have some 50ml bottles on the way though, and was going to test them out on my truck soon.

Cerakote will last a really long time and look great. Any of the typical spray on trim detail will not last too long and need to be reapplied often, as you found out with 303. I do love some 303, and use it inside the trukc.

I use cerakote on the hard plastics like the bumpers, bed caps, rear tailgate handle. It is simple to use, just follow the instructions and make sure the items are fully dry before application. It lasts many months, I am probably on about 5-6 months since application and it looks good, beads water like new.

Cerakote is good stuff. I just applied it to my mirrors, fog light liners, door handles and tailgate and cap handles. Huge difference. It advertises lasting for 200 washes.
It's not hard to apply, but really unforgiving if you screw it up. So take your time. Wash and dry first. When you think everything's dry, dry it two more times. I still need to do the windshield ditch and mud flaps. Here's a good thread on the unforgiving part.

Not the best quality picture, but I put some on the plate light to see the contrast. I'll have line x on the bumper soon, so I'm not going to do anymore there.

Perl, Car Guys, and D-Lux are all solid products I’ve used, but I think Cerakote is the hands down solution at this point. Lasts a hell of a long time, easy to apply as long as you follow instructions. Just don’t let water touch it before it cures.

Solution Finish is what I use on details that a customer is paying for trim restoration. Then I will apply a ceramic coat over top (real ceramic, not spray on crap)

I must have put in on a month ago? looks new. Better than anything I have ever used. Maybe 6 pressure washes since applied.
