Not exactly the same, but I did the "anytime foglight mod" on my 2005 DC today. Figured I'd post it up here since I couldn't find it referenced on the site. Years ago when I got my first FGT DC, this mod was all over the place. Anyway... Open the steering column, unplug the connector to the turn signal stalk. Find the green/black and white/black wires across from each other in that harness. Snip the green/black wire and splice it into the white/black wire from the switch connector side. Tape off the truck side of the green/black wire you cut, it's no longer needed. Your foglights will now operate anytime the engine is running EXCEPT when the high beams are on.

Edit: I double checked and edited the post above for proper colors on my 2005 DC. Under the column, at the large plug going into the turn signal stalk. You want to cut the green/black wire and either ground it or connect it to the white/black wire (which is a ground) from the plug side.

Btw even inexpensive 9006 LED from Amazon are a huge improvement from stock

Ok, I have been following this thread and searching the internet for how to have anytime fogs. It appears some of you may have figured it out. What exactly did you do? I have an 05 DC with DRL. Thanks in advance.

Nothing weird, works great. I double checked the wire colors. Under the column, at the large plug going into the turn signal stalk. You want to cut the green/black wire and either ground it or connect it to the white/black wire (which is a ground) from the plug side.

Since I’m challenged w the whole electric thing, which end do you ground?
I’m assuming you have to remove the plastic underneath the column?
Thx again for your quick responses!!

Cut and connect the green/black wire from the connector side to the black/white wire. Tape up the truck side of the green and white wire. To access, remove the plastic by turning the wheel 90* in each direction to expose the screws. I’ll look for another video and link tomorrow.

@06tacomadc remove the bottom part of the steering column shroud, unplug the connecter from the blinker stalk and then follow this crude diagram I just illustrated. Hope it helps man.

My 05 SR5 DC has no DRL's that I have ever seen. Do they really have models with and without DRL or is mine broken?

I have tried this splice with no positive results and I put it all back the way I found it and it still working but I do want independent control of the fog's so I want to get in there once more.

Thanks for this post! One of many on this topic as we all know.

I think there may have been some made without DRL. Look next to your battery along the fender for a grey/silver plug. That’s where the DRL plug is. Perhaps it got unplugged at some point?

They are the little tiny bulb in the corner of the lense if you have them. Not like cars today where it's the whole headlamp. Mine were burnt out since I bought it, didn't have a clue until I upgraded to projectors that I even had them.

@Hi06silver aren't those the little parking lights you're referring to rather than DRL? My 05 DC had DRL that made the full regular headlight come on during the day. I unplugged it next to the battery. I also have those little parking lights inside the headlamp assembly that come on with the parking light eating on the blinker stalk.

I believe those ones in the actual headlamp assembly are considered drls....I may be wrong. They do come on with the side markers though.

Digging this thread up. Recently got wife an 06 sequoia limited and need to do the fog light mod. Did it years ago on my 05 DC and it is a must have (Currently gets dark at 4pm where I live).

The Sequoia has both daytime running lights AND automatic headlights. (Switch has 4 settings: off, parking, on and AUTO). As far as I can tell auto wasn't an available on the tundras. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Any idea on if the process (with DRL) is the same with AUTO on sequoia? Haven't found anything online yet. Hoping for some guidance before I tear into it.

I was back under my steering column over the weekend. Still can't figure out which wire are which. I didn't have much time or my meter. So I really didn't do any digging. I'm quite positive once I get my meter in there I can figure out which wires are which. According to the schematic I posted earlier it isn't for my truck, which it is?!?. The color of wires don't match my truck at all. Soon as I figure this out I'll post results. From starting this thread until now I've had a wild time lol. Baby, house, jobs been insanely busy. Besides that I'm going to figure this out.

I did the fog light mod few years ago on my 05 DC WITHOUT DRL (don't remember exactly how). I can have the fogs on with parking lights, low beam or high beam using the on/off factory switch. The parking lights have to at least be on, which is how I like it. really glad I did this mod as I like the different lighting options I have. Plus fogs on with High beams make a big difference lighting up the sides (for deer). the 9012 light mod is also a huge improvement.

Now I have an 06 sequoia, but it has DRL and automatic headlights (see my previous post). I will start poking around soon as well, this mod is a must have for me.

The previous post with instructions by 912 will not work with high beams on (per his description). So looks like his shared info will not work.

I found this post on TS. I think it will be helpful for you, its an 05 DC with DRL. post #5 is more helpful. I will use this as a starting point for my 06 sequoia. Just not sure what the auto headlight function I have will do to this plan, hopefully it works.

where do guys find the colored factory wiring schematics? searched all over and can't find them. I have FSM downloads but don't see any schematics in there.
