So last week I came across a thread about Tacoma Fenders being modified to our FGTs...

Just got them in today and will be fitting them this weekend!

The fronts are no problem but the rears will need a little trimming, nothing bad at all and everything looks like it will fit well!

The rears are just hanging because I need to remove my stock mudflaps to sit flush.

These pictures are just a test fit to see how they will work, Got new bumpers and rock sliders too coming soon!

So they look like they should fit really well!

    Very excited for something different.
I still have the stock replacements if these go south but as far today I'm really digging them!

I think once it's sitting properly the body lines will actually work out really well!
Like it was designed for it.

I'll do more this weekend and update this thread so check back for more pictures and info!

Surprised the rears worked at all with how odd the Tacoma rear fender cutout is. Looks like you will be able to make them work though.

Can we talk about that exhaust cutout for a minute.... my wife said hell no :annoyed:

I’m curious to see what that rear flair turns out. I want some different flares for my double cab.

Started to cut to fit my Tacoma flares but then had to leave for something for work...

Fits really well but will need some imagination to secure them from flapping at freeway speeds.

    More tomorrow time permitting

thanks for being the guinea pig. I’m really curious to see how you mount them since the OE ones attach with clips on the underside.

Thanks, as of now I'm thinking of just extend metal braces that fit into the factory holes but we'll see

    It's the little things sometimes.

Didn't get to work on my fenders but did install the license plate flip for the trailer...
Just an old JDMtyte frame thing I had in my parts bin, free and it works!1f643_3ba804ac4257b6ff16da46f6c7a7bab5d18bb532.png

I'll redo it later down the road

A topper is one of my favorite add ons to my FGT. It’s come in handy more times than not.

Yeah, my train of thought was to try to make the truck as light as possible to get a better power to weight and gas mileage ratio... but this thing kinda throws that thinking out the window...:rofl:

Driving it today I can definitely feel the weight of it making it top-heavy, whereas prior it was like driving my old lightweight single cab taco I used to have... just throw the thing around...

So I'm stuck in the middle of it, gonna keep it on for a bit and see how I feel next week before I decide to paint it or not.

I do love how it looks and can be played with though...
