A fair number of folks have spent some time in the detailing forum lately, which I think is great. I spend a fair amount of time on detailing forums, and one had a post that was simply titled 'feeling overwhelmed'. It's pretty easy to get to that point, with so many options out there. Detailing guru Mike Philips posted this video out on YouTube, that is pretty helpful and lays out the process very well. It's a good watch:

This looks like a Saturday afternoon and cigar watch.

Will be one of these. Easy draw and doesn’t leave my mouth tasting like an old army boot. Tomorrow is dancing night!

Thanks for sharing this video. Learned a lot good things in regards to detailing that will serve me well in the future.

Another good cigar and one of my favorites is JD Howard Reserve by Crowned Heads.

I’ll second the appreciation for a recommendation. I enjoyed the Avo Uvezian today while watching the detailing video on my iPad in the backyard today. No way was I gonna wash again, only to have it covered in pollen in the morning. Looks like we are in for a few rain days ahead, but I digress. I did learn some techniques, primarily the way he used his clay bar and his approach to compounding, polishing, and waxing. To the veteran these may be old tricks, but to a newbie like me, it splained a lot.

We're just entering our pollen season here in NJ. I have the same dilemma....wash...don't wash? Sometimes I just foam and rinse. As far as the video, Mike knows his stuff for sure. Someday I hope to be able to save enough to afford one of his three-day classes.
