Eleven pages later I finally get around to posting pics of my lighted cup holders. These are the amber colored 2 7/8"(kit comes with two led discs) and a 2 5/8" disc for the smaller cup holder. Yes, the brake controller is upside down. It is just resting in there until I have a chance to hard wire it.

    Lots o’ mods
Thanks for posting that. That was something that I didn’t even know existed, much less that I needed (but I do). Just placed an order, and having the measurements from your post made it even easier. A tip of the hat to you, sir.

Refreshed headlights using Cerakote's kit. Came with an anti oxidation wipes, 2000 and 3000 grit wetsand, and ceramic coating wipes. Highly recommend. It advertises the coating will outlast your vehicle.

Wow those look like they came out great!

How long did it take you to do that...

edit: just watched Cerakote's video...looks pretty simple!

It was really simple. No polishing drill required like some kits. I did the headlights in about 30 min probably. Tail lights took like 2 hours stripping off nite shade o_O

Looks like new! Probably ghetto, but I used to use toothpaste to buff my 1st gen headlights. Really cleaned them up. Mild enough to give them a quick buff every couple of months without causing wear.

I used to use toothpaste to clean ps2 games, I'm sure it's the same concept haha
Coating it with a non reactive ceramic should make it never fog or oxidize again if it holds up to its claim. It's common to coat on paint now days as well.

Upgraded the upgrade: lighting in the footwell and glove compartment. Huge difference! Here are some before and after pics.

Pic 1: Terrible 74 light bulbs. DO NOT BUY!
    74 Bad Light Bulb.jpg
Pic 2: You may be thinking, "Eh, the light output ain't all that bad." Nah, bruh...it's BAD! Light output looks bright but shines NOTHING! I'm surprised the camera was able to pick anything up.
    Footwell.jpg
Pic 3: The shine was so weak, I had to see whether the bulb was working or not.
    Footwell .jpg
Pic 4: Glove compartment - "is this thing even on?"
    Glove compartment Before.jpg
Pic 5: The reflection of my forehead shines brighter than these cheap bulbs
    Glove compartment Before 2.jpg
    Pic 6: Amazing upgrade!
    Footwell After.jpg
    Pic 7: So, so bright!
    Footwell After 2.jpg
Pic 8: I can see clearly now the rain is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It's gonna be a bright (bright), Bright (bright) sunshiny day. It's gonna be a bright (bright), Bright (bright) sunshiny day.

Restored my Headlights using Cerakote that I’ve been reading so much about. Have to say it really works well.

I picked mine up at Walmart for around $19.00. There was enough product in the box to do my daughter’s Camry too.
Wr are a total Toyota family. I’ve had more Toy’s than these. This is just the current inventory.

So when I installed my tonneau cover it had some drain tubes that empty at the front of the bed. The manufacturer suggested pulling these oval plugs and sticking the tube through to the ground. That looked and performed kind of cheezy. So I watched a video on youtube and this was a viable suggestion.

However, I load heavy stuff in my bed from scaffold to plywood to ranch equipment. One enthusiastic shove forward and these would snap. So I cut a couple of lengths of steel stud 2x4 and secured them in place with some roofing adhesive. For added strength I filled the voids with expanding foam and cut off the excess. Now when stuff gets slammed forward, nothing gets damaged.

Also, I installed some Matt Gecko bed lights because with a tonneau the cargo lights are blocked and I can't see what I have and where. Now I can see.

Water proof switch. Turned out real clean.

Okay, had to wait until it rained/snowed or I washed the truck....whichever came first. It rained a couple of days ago and I did get some water in at the driver side tailgate in the corner. Upon examination I can see I did not adjust the tonneau properly and the tail gate seal was not contacting. Yesterday I moved the cover back 3/4 of an inch and the seal is made. However, the gap between the tailgate and the bed side is still exposed so I may get some water coming in from that. I suppose I could modify the weather seal to cover the gap. For now I'll see if the adjustment did the trick. This cover should really be an inch longer though.

Regardless, it's far better than the alternative...

I took my tyger roll up tonneau cover off because I couldn’t get it to perfectly seal around the tailgate area. Hindsight it was because of the gap between the tailgate and truck bed. After this winter I’ve decided next winter I will probably put it on and just take it off during summer. But I came up with a great idea! At least for now. I ordered a waterproof Christmas tree storage bag that was $10 that I will use for the groceries when we go shopping when it’s raining outside. It’s nice and festive all throughout the year too :santa2: I don’t know how it will hold up but it’s just for groceries. With 3 kids and 2 adults the groceries just don’t fit lol

Great idea! I find my cover leaks near the tailgate as well. I've got one of those waterproof cargo tray bags that I use for our bags. Quite a bit more expensive, but already had it. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Highland-13-cu-ft-Waterproof-Hitch-Mounted-Cargo-Bag-1041700/203340330

Weather is compliant so I installed my Hewitt bypass. Didn’t have codes nor was I in limp mode, but the AIP and switching valves are a time bomb. I just do proactive maintenance. That’s how I got 500,000 miles out of my first gen and it was ready for another 500,000.
