I remember in the late 90s when Huffy started making serious BMX bikes, there was a sticker that became popular which read, "If Huffy made an airplane, would you fly it?"

I might be mistaken but I think Kenda has been making passenger car tires for a while, I think they are just newer to the market of off road tires.

I just looked over their website. For anybody with 16" wheels there aren't any options for this tire (unless you want 235s). They do have a few sizes for their MT in 16" but this particular tire is 17" or bigger. That’s a bit of a bummer.

From their website, it appears they have been making passenger tires since 2001.

For anyone that is curious how these perform in the snow, they are badass. Colorado recently was hit with a pretty heavy snow storm and I got to put them to the test.

These had NO problems getting us around. At times, I was pushing snow drifts with the bumper and they cut right through. I purposely looked for the really bad roads and honestly, they were doing just fine in 2WD. Only a few times I dropped it in 4-Hi to make sure we weren’t going to get stuck. At one point, the road was completely lost under drifts and parked cars had covered the roadway. No one was in them so I went around which lead me into a deep, heavy, muddy wet snow pit. I was in 2wd and the wheels started spinning. I put it in 4-Hi and after a little spinning, it climbed out with ease. Not realizing how deep it was, it wasn’t till I got up to speed the whole truck started shaking. I pulled over and inside the front right wheel, there was an solid inner ring made of ice and mud. It was perfectly round and shaved clear by the caliper lol. I knocked it out and it drove smooth. I drove out to the same spot today and the rut I was in was probably 3/4 up the tire. I’d definitely recommend these tires.

Kenda are awesome tires. Maybe relatively new on scene to passenger tires but every dirt bike tire I bought that I loved was a kenda. I just wish they had more 20 inch options on the rt, or these would be my next tire.

TO EVERYONE THAT IS RUNNING THEM:

How is the road noise at freeway speeds?

My last set was Bridgestone Dullers, anyone has comparisons noise-wise?

Love how quiet the Dullers were, I have some no-name ones on my new rims that are horribly loud on the freeway but handle great off-road...

Working out great so far, pretty quiet and no rubbing after removal of front mud flaps, also haven't noticed a drop in mpg really. Falcon suspension w/ 3+ CB Shackles in rear stock leafs.

These are on my truck now. I didn't get them new. They came on the rims I bought off FB marketplace. They are choppy and noisy and I can't get them to balance. Maybe the last guy was out of alignment or something. But I can't wait to get them off.

Holy crap @bmf4069 we're gonna hafta fire you, sleeping on the damn job! DO YER DAMN JERB!

Taiwan has made a radical transformation from the quality of output seen during the 80s. There's a reason they pushed so hard to keep 'Made in Taiwan' stickers on everything at a time when China wanted all stickers to say 'Made in China': Taiwan's quality is on par or in some cases better than some American-made products today.

Unfortunately, Taiwan's rep suffers today from the inferior fly-by-night product output of a few major manufacturing cities in China making 80's-Taiwan-grade garbage en masse and peddling on Ali Baba and A-Zon to name a couple of big ones. All those crappy OBDII scanners that are the same with different plastics? You can thank Shenzen for all that. There are others like Guangzhou, Tianjin that put out electronics, textiles and whatnot.

But yeah. Taiwan makes great stuff these days, and have going on at least 2 decades. Don't confuse their product with other Chinese stuff you'll find out there. Kenda has been making tires for bikes, ATVs, bicycles and other stuff for decades. They're no newbie. They've got 50+ years in the rubber industry.

I'd buy these if I knew they'd look good on the stock 5-spoke split alloys. Strong chance I'll be changing jobs before end of year, money is too tight to buy a full set of wheels and tires. I'm eager to get tires eventually though.

Procomp 2.5" lift in the front with Procomp shocks in the rear and a 3" block lift. Wheels are 17x9 -25 offset , I did the normal removal of the mudflap , hammered the pinch weld flat and cut/ trimmed the splash shield. My alignment has the caster push as far forward as possible. No rubbing but i also dont do any crazy off road or rock crawling. Just trail rides and camping.
