2020 Bourbon build

Hey Folks,

I have multiple threads over the last year of my build so far and thought I would put them all here in order.
The build has been with the help and advice from you guys
So follow along here and if you can’t catch the forum it’s on Instagram @2020Tundrabuild I would love you guys to follow along.

We begin with a 2020 Mesquite Brown Limited Crewmax brand new

 

Then we added a 3/2 SST ReadyLift, XD wheels and Duratrac tires but need some running boards???

 

Then painted to match Bushwacker flares were added along with side steps by HAVOC

 

Now this one waaas HUUUGE, I added the black Tundra letters to the tailgate

 

Now we need to upgrade the sound system from @tech12volts and that started with removing the interior and door panels for sound deadening.

This was the amp just laying on the floor before being mounted on rack with Maestro DSR1 under the passenger seat.The second shot is one of the crossovers.

 

This is the custom middle JL Audio dash speaker from @tech12volts and then the two other JL Audio corner dash speakers were installed as well but failed to get a photo on them

 

These next few posts are on where to mount the bass knob. The location I chose was one that works perfectly for me because as my arm is resting on the center console my hand is hanging down right on the knob. I can literally just move my fingers and adjust the sound.

 

My 4 legged crew needs a place to ride but who is the crew, it’s Gunny and Rowdy

 

We are building a platform that will be carpeted so the dogs can grip it, tool bins don’t slip around as easy and it’s got TWO compartments....... One compartment houses my protection against the Zombie Apocalypse.

 

Very curious, how much of a difference in road noise did the sound deadening make?

We need a new front bumper AND winch AND lights. DeMello came through with all of them Smittybilt X20 10k lb winch and Baja Design 30” light bar and squadron pros

She is on there , now how do we control the lights...... sPOD and Jason over at Krawl Off-road to the rescue.
Notice the switch panel that mounts in the roof where the sunglasses holder was.

 

I did a bad job with the stickers, you can order the switches with their function printed on them but I didn’t know what I would be needing each one for yet so I just used the sheet of stickers that came with them.

 

So onto the rear, Road Armor sent me a rear winch bumper and my friends at ABS solutions did a great job at coating it with Linex.

Thanks for the compliments and the sound deadening helped tremendously. When I bought the truck and slammed the doors it sounded like a tin can now it’s more of a solid ..thunk... to answer your question most definitely but you have to do inside the door skin and roll it real good and then do the outside door skin where the clear plastic was.

It is not as daunting as it may sound those panels come off in 5 minutes and then order a set of rollers from Amazon for about $15. Then choose the product you want to use.

 

Next big mods will be next week, SDHQ was able to score us a body mount chop kit AND an iCON Stage 5 suspension lift. We drop the truck off Monday to get started on and when it leaves there it will head to Discount for our 35/12.50/18s. I am really, really considering changing the rims even though they are only 6 months old to some Method racing 312....maybe bronze and matte black??? If the diagonal wrap down the side of the truck uses a same color bronze and black that MIGHT look cool?

Or just save my money and keep the XD’s on there.
