    Working on it!
I walked out a sec ago to take some pictures of the i3 tint on my Pro. The rear picture has a bit of glare but it is reasonably good. The ceramic tint (at least Huper Optik's) is super clear. If you want more choice, find an installer that uses the Huper Optik (more VLT choices) than Autobahn (same company, just a different brand). The i3 at the time I had it installed, performed better than the HO ceramic. It's part of the trade off I think. I wouldn't have anything but HO put in my autos...the Pro is the third vehicle so far.

Thanks for the pics. The shop I'm going to uses Autobahn and I believe the i3 is the best that they carry so I think thats what I'm going with. I think im leaning toward doing the front windows in 22 and 33 over the factory tint in the back. Thanks again.

The factory rear windscreen is 32% and the sides are 22%. Just had mine done all ceramic (Xpel). 5% on the fronts and 20% over the rears.

Did you guys remove factory tint on rear door windows or just went over it?

Getting my tint next Friday and was wondering if I need to remove it prior to installing new tint. Planning on going 20 all around and 70 on windshield

Factory privacy tint usually meters around 22-24% on tundras
It is not a film but tinted glass…and does have some UV filtration to it…but can’t hold a candle to ceramic film
Remember that all films are UV barriers …kinda like the cheap glasses at the gas station with UV400 on them compared to some Smiths or Costas.
The difference is the heat rejection with the better quality stuff.
Personally i did 70% on WS, 18% front doors and rear doors and 4% on the camper shell rear glass
Also been tinting for approx 20 years
I always say dont get sold on a brand…invest in a quality installer

Thank you for explanation. I will have them go over the factory tint in the rear, hopefully match it somewhat closer to 20% at the front.

    Always down to talk tint!
We do quite a bit of 40% on top of the factory …you get all the benefits of tint w/o much loss of visibility

Any idea of what the factory tint is on the rear bed window?

    Would slightly vary on make/model
But safe to say most of the oem Toyota/Lexus glass that is tinted ‘privacy’ would be around 25-30%
    From my experiences
I have always had something from 20, 18, 15 percent in the shop but have found that usually a little dark to match Toyota glass
