What's opinions on the best Website to buy a used Toyota?
Perhaps there's people who specialise in finding specific cars?

I used craigslist for my 07. I only buy local vehicles. That way I can physically view and inspect it myself, and meet the seller.

I used cargurus, although it narrowed it down to a few used ones that caught my eye, it made me lean towards a new one in the end lol.

I like Auto Trader as you can tweak the filters to search for exactly what you want.

I found that Cargurus was the bes a year ago for me easily.

I was looking for a specific Unicorn which is tough without a good search tool.

They just let me dial in my search exactly how I wanted it and it made things a lot more simple and wide spread for me,no question or comparision at all.

The one where you get to physically inspect and test drive the vehicle, Craigslist was what I used to buy my '07.

    Yes.
Good point this seems only obvious to me but I too will not ever buy one unless I drive and inspect it first.

I used Truecar.com back in '15 to find my '13 CM. Called the seller, went to inspect and test drive.

I found mine on iseecars.com. I got a great deal from a local used dealer in town about a year ago. Maybe I just got lucky!

    I just found a 2007 DC 4x4 SR5 with the 5.7 on Facebook marketplace.
Listed for a day. Gotta be fast.
155k and no body rust, surprise find for a Wisconsin truck.
Body had some scratches and a couple dings, but no rust.
    Paid 8,000.
Been on the hunt for a good deal for about a month.

Probably going to keep it stock.

I will not buy a vehicle sight unseen.

That said, last year I bought a car from 2,800 miles away. I had a local shop do a Pre-Purchase Inspection complete with a live video walk-and-talk around, purchased it, and had it shipped from FL to CA. It worked out great!

If looking for a unicorn, you will likely need to look beyond your local market. Three times I have flown out-of-state to buy unicorns and drive them home. Sometimes you need a search tool that will look beyond your backyard. Also, some search tools allow you to view only the new entries for the day, rather than sort through the whole list, and set alerts to notify you if something in your range comes up.

    Happy hunting!

i think it very much depends on if you are ok with buying from a dealer, or if you are looking for a private seller.

lot more money to be saved with a private seller over a dealer, and IMO you dont get much advantage in buying from a dealer. they put lipstick on pigs and mark them up cause they are convenient, and good at swindling people into thinking there is some sort of safety that comes with buying from a dealer.

if you are buying from a dealer, there are a shitload of places to look. autotrader, car guru, etc.

if you are buying from a private seller, facebook and craigslist are where it is at. they both suck. but they are the best options. facebook's search sucks and you will waste a ton of time browsing past stuff you dont want. no facebook... toyota tundra within 100 miles priced between 10k and 30k does not cover the F150 wheels for $500 2 states away cause they are "related" to each other. :censored: and craigslist sucks cause every other post is an obvious scam.

yes, there are private sellers on edmunds, autotrader, and carguru, etc... but they are few and far between and i feel like a lot of them arent actually real trucks, but filler vehicles with prices that are super inflated just to keep buyers thinking that they'd only save a few bucks buying private over dealer...
