Any guys out here have advice on the Pro vs MAXX by Cooper? I'm torn. I like the look of both...the pro a little more but we get dumped on in mn with snow and not sure how they'd handle. Any input would help especially guys from snowy climates

i have the MAXX on my tacoma and love them. we got dumped on this year in BC and they held up great. good wear life and quiet. and didn't ruin milage. upgrading to the pro for the tacoma cuz i don't daily it anymore and MAXX for the tundra since she's a pavement princess

I think the max will perform better for most drivers based on what I have read. There is a litany of information on both tires over on Tacoma worlds board. AT vs MT the AT will do better in general conditions save for mud and deep snow. I know @Sean266 likes his pros.

The STT Pros are good in snow. It's on ice where it struggles. But I think all MTs struggle on ice.

Have zero issues with my Pro's.

Loved em so much when I replaced my last set, I bought them again.

You should just move some where it doesn't snow, then you won't have to worry about it. haha

I've got the Pros and love them, but I don't have to worry about snow or ice either.

I was looking at the ST MAXX myself but they are pricy at $290+ A pop. I'll probably stick to BFG KO2's. They are $255 a pop.

Where are you finding KO2's cheaper than Maxx's? Amazon had maxx's for $245 the other day in 2957018

Huh... I'll have to look again. I have the stock TRD rims. I'm in the market, my tires are shot.

I'm not seeing them bud. Price I'm still seeing is $298 a pop for 275/65R18.

EDIT: Just realized your looking at a different tire size. Ignore my comments.

I have Nitto Trail Grappler and they do fine in winter (We get a lot of snow from Lake Erie around here). I read some people who had both Trail Grappler and STT Pro claiming that STT Pro does so much better than Trail Grappler in winter. If you look at the Pro, it definitely has more sipings than Nitto TG so that's not surprising.

You're saying that the Pros do do better than the trail grapplers?

I take it you deal with ice and what not in NY as well and they still do fine?

I don't have any direct experience with STT Pro, but the ones that have had both Trail Grappler and Pro say Pro does much better in winter than TG.

i had stt pros on my Tacoma i loved them except they are loud on the highway, i would not buy them again because of that.
it didn't bother me that they were loud, but i got tired of listening to my wife and kid bitch about it when we all went hunting together.
i did ride in the back seat once and i couldn't hear what they were talking about up front without leaning forward.
i was wondering if the maxx (non pro) are like that, i really like the looks of them also. all i use the tundra for is working on the farms and hunting, it is not my daily driver. the shortest drive i have to the farms is 35 miles one way, some are about 60, so i really don't want one that is gonna be loud again. i am going to run someting in 285/75/17 on icon speed six, they make the maxx in that size. was kind of looking at them and the falken wildpeak at
