Casey, i got the factory plug pieces from Corsa Technic. Is this the way I tie in the resistors for each side? Sorry for the diagram being so crude but I’m not good at reading the real ones, this one in my mind is simpler. Ignore the actual wire positions as to which is which I just had to get it on paper to get it in my head. I’ll test each wire to determine which is which and I am going to solder all connections and heat shrink and wrap all in electrical tape when completed. I appreciate your input on this.

Are you doing the rear blinker bulbs? If so, there are only two wires going to the blinker bulb socket.

Yes. Ok so I just install the resistor between the two wires then, correct? Doesn’t really matter which is hot or which is ground right?

Correct. As long as you don’t switch the wire positions from the first connector to the second one.
i.e. Pin 1 on one end needs to be pin 1 on the other end of the harness

Casey, can you hurry up and put these on so we can drool all over them? I really want to see some night shots with the rear facing spot lights.

I'm trying man! I plan on mounting them tonight, but won't get the lights or power fold hooked up (unless I hack it just for testing). Work is nuts this week - I was up at 4 yesterday to drive to Seattle, give training all day, and then run back home (13-1/2 hours with 6 on the road). Today I'm playing catch-up from being disconnected while doing the training.

The build is looking awesome as usual Casey.
Sorry if i missed it, did you swap out the cargo lamp in the TBL? And does that require a resistor?

I did replace them. The FyreFlys LEDs set comes with bulbs for the cargo lights (not the third brake light though). No resistors required. And the actual third brake bulb I used the same Lasfit bulb that I did for the rear blinkers and it does not need a resistor either.

UPDATE 5/15/21 - I've upgraded the power fold feature to AUTO-FOLD. You can find that write-up here, along with updated wiring diagrams attached to this post and that post that show the final setup.

Power Fold and Spot Lights on the Boost Auto Tow Mirrors is now complete.
This one is a long one...I may need to come back and update it a few times to get everything captured. These instructions/EWDs are specific to my truck (2021 US-model TRD Pro).

First off, when I ordered the two mirrors, I ordered them stating that I had factory power-fold function (I do not). I did this, so that they would wire the power fold to the factory plug rather than a separate connector and a non-factory-looking switch. The "Reverse Flood Lamp" function, however, is not factory. So they send the mirrors with two connectors. This takes up extra space in the sail panel (I have speakers there), and it doesn't look all that good in my opinion. I also didn't want to tap into the reverse circuit (as they send instructions to do), or to tap the cargo light switch (I don't really need side lights EVERY time I open the door). So I opted for a new switch altogether.

I picked up an Air On Board push switch in "light blue" - it's not an exact match, but as close as I think you can find.
    https://www.aironboard.com/online/push-switch-926nb-12volt-toyota-oem-reverse-lights-blue.html

As for the power fold mirror switch, the 2007-2013 Limited trucks came with power-folding mirrors without the memory function, so the switch uses the same connector as the current non-memory trucks (just two more terminals for the folding power). Ultimately, I went Amazon for a knock-off because it was only $17.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VXPP53H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8

Next, I needed to sort out the wiring. This involved researching all of the actual wiring for the mirrors that was in my truck (current EWD) and comparing to the Gen 2 wiring for a non-memory power-folding mirrored truck, and then determining which terminals/connectors to use to get things from the mirrors to the switch while keeping it as factory-accurate as possible.

Ultimately, this is the customized EWD I came up with for the power fold function (full PDF attached):
    upload_2021-3-23_16-3-46.jpg

And this is the customized EWD I came up with for the Reverse Flood Lights. Note that the Boost Auto mirrors ship with a 3A fuse for these lights (it is four LED chips), and the AOB switch states the max power through their switch is 3A, so I opted to not bother with a full relay setup here. Again, full PDF attached.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-5-39.jpg

Additionally, I had to chase down the actual connector pin-outs and determine which junction connectors to use and which pin locations. Orange highlights are the pins/wires I added, and blue are wires that either aren't on the EWDs for the 2021 trucks but are actually present (and what they are), or other notes/discrepancies I found. Original files are in the attached zip file.

    upload_2021-3-23_16-9-42.jpg

    upload_2021-3-23_16-9-59.jpg

It should also be noted that on FACTORY mirrors that have puddle lights, the power to that light is in the same spot that I chose for the Reverse Floods. I don't see the need (personally) for having puddle lights and don't want to modify these mirrors to install them, so that's why I went that route. I could have just as easily used one of the empty spots in positions 15, 16, or 17.

NEXT, you need to get some terminals. This can be a little tricky...but I'm here to help!

Connectors M6 and N5 both use 0.64II non-waterproof terminals. You will need a MALE terminal to re-terminate the Reverse Flood Light wire into the mirror-side of this connector (one for each mirror). You will also need FEMALE terminals (three per mirror) for the three new wires you are running to those mirrors. Order extra so you can practice (and shipping on these isn't cheap, but they did ship fast from Japan).

    0.64II non-waterproof Male terminal (82998-24270) - https://www.hi-1000ec.com/product/1201
    0.64II non-waterproof Female terminal (82998-24290) - https://www.hi-1000ec.com/product/1208

Connectors MJ1 uses a combination of 0.64II non-waterproof and 1.5 non-waterproof terminals. Connector NJ1 uses all 1.5 non-waterproof terminals. Because I was running larger wire than most of the factory wiring (20AWG in the doors, and 18AWG in the cabin), I chose to stick with the 1.5 non-waterproof terminals. You will need three MALE and three FEMALE terminals for each side at these junction points.

    1.5 non-waterproof Male terminal (82998-24340) - https://www.hi-1000ec.com/product/1301
    1.5 non-waterproof Female terminal (82998-24350) - https://www.hi-1000ec.com/product/1302

Finally, connector J130 uses a 1.3 non-waterproof connector. You need two FEMALE for the power fold motor controls.

    1.3 non-waterproof Female terminal (82998-12420) - https://www.hi-1000ec.com/product/1300 OR https://www.corsa-technic.com/item.php?item_id=1326

And get yourself some stranded primary/hook-up wire in the appropriate gages. I used 20AWG in the doors (the factory is mostly 22AWG to the mirrors), and then switched to 18AWG in the cabin because I had more of it.

Pop the door panel (passenger door demonstrated, but the process is the same for both). First remove the sail panel (arrow) with a trim tool. It just pops off. If you have a speaker, pull the connector on it. Then, pop the trim piece behind the door handle and remove the screw behind it. Pull your door handle pull felt piece and remove the screw under it. Then pop the little rivet/plastic trim clip with a small screw driver (press in the middle and it will pop loose). Finally, start at the bottom with a trim tool and pop the inner panel loose.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-31-18.jpg

Unhook your lock and door handle latch cables, then the connectors for the window switch and you can set your door panel aside. You'll also need to pull the speaker in the door. Finally, you'll need to pull the wire gutter by the seat and the kick panel that covers the junction connectors.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-32-6.jpg

Here is the "male" connector (male terminals) that are part of the mirror, along with the extra connector for the Reverse Puddle Lights.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-32-53.jpg

Cut off the extra connector tight to the plastic, then strip and terminate one of the male 064II terminals to the wire. There is a small "retainer block" on the back of the connector that you pop up (about 1/2 MM or so) and that will allow the wire terminal to slide into the housing until it "clicks" - if you can't put the retainer block back into position easily, then you don't have the terminal fully seated. Make sure you get the right position - removing these (especially the 0.64 size) can be a bit of a trick.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-35-46.jpg

Crimp female connectors to the three wires you're running from the mirror and terminate them into the other connector. I tucked the mirror connector back into the door opening similar to how the factory mirror connectors are mounted.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-36-30.jpg

Start routing the wires nice and tidy...
    upload_2021-3-23_16-41-32.jpg

You can also see my fish pushed through from the inside of the cabin. You need to pop the grommet loose between the door and the cab and cut a small hole in the boot of it (this will be inside the truck when it is put back into place. The fish is then routed through that hole and through the rubber grommet/boot into the door (view is the drivers side grommet/boot)
    upload_2021-3-23_16-41-5.jpg

You'll need to determine a rough cut on your wire next, and then un-tape the grommet/boot that runs past the speaker so you can run your wires through it to get into the door cavity.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-42-31.jpg

Once that's put back into place, hook up the fish and pull the wires through to the cab of the truck.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-43-7.jpg

MJ1 is the bottom outboard blue connector on the passenger side. You need the 1.5mm female terminals here.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-44-30.jpg

I pulled the excess back into the door cavity and made a drip loop at the bottom like the factory wiring has.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-45-9.jpg

At this point, you can re-assemble your door. The driver's side door is essentially the same, only the mirror switch connector is slightly different to disconnect/reconnect. The NJ1 connector is also the bottom outer blue connector.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-48-29.jpg

Since I have the factory power tailgate lock (which also uses MJ1 connector on the passenger side), I had to pass-through the wiring between the junction connectors. I found that two of the three wires were already passing through (they are for non auto-up/auto-down windows). So I only needed one extra male and female terminal to pass one of the mirror fold wires through this section of harness.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-51-9.jpg

    upload_2021-3-23_16-51-40.jpg

Moving on to the back side of that connector for the in-cab wiring. Crimp some male terminals to the ends of the wires.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-52-26.jpg

Pop the connector off of the block of connectors so you can get to the secondary retainer latch, then get those terminals inserted and locked into place. Then start the process of fishing and routing the wires through the cab to the back side of the instrument cluster area.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-53-50.jpg

it never fails - I've got the doors open and half the cab torn apart and it starts raining.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-54-2.jpg

    upload_2021-3-23_16-54-45.jpg

Once on the driver's side of the radio, I ran these wires down the harness that goes to the steering wheel. Then I repeated the process on the NJ1 connector on the driver's side kick panel and brought those wires up the wiring harness and out the opening where the switches to the left of the steering wheel are located. I spliced each wire from the two mirrors together with solder and heat shrink to form a "wye" and prepped things for terminating to the final connectors.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-57-27.jpg

Clip wires and terminate the 1.3 female terminals, and then get them inserted into the connector for the mirror switch.
    upload_2021-3-23_16-58-27.jpg

A bit of a mess here, but I was getting sick of this project. Soldered the green wire from the AOB switch to the green running to the Reverse Flood lights. The red wire routes into the rat's nest and is spliced into the red wire feeding my OEM LED bed lights. Blue on the AOB switch is the illumination, and that taps off the cargo light illumination wire. And black on the AOB switch is ground (for the LEDs in the switch) and that taps ground on the cargo light switch.
    upload_2021-3-23_17-0-39.jpg

Finally, tidied things up best I could and got everything put back together to test it out... When the Reverse Flood Lights are ON, the two little lights light up. When they are OFF, then only the words are illuminated. And yes, that's where my rear window switch used to be...
    upload_2021-3-23_17-1-20.jpg

    Finished flood lights.
    IMG_1624.HEIC.jpg

    And power folding mirrors!
(the GIF is too big to upload and I don't post to utube).

Wow awesome write up Casey!! The most I will touch with wiring with my Toyota’s is adding a light bar. I used the same on board switch for my Bajadesigns bar.

That was quite the project...Amazing work. I am glad to have seen this because it is the motivation for me to never desire such an upgrade after seeing what you had to disassemble (the entire front interior) lol.

Good news is you should be prewired for the turn signals in the truck, but will likely need to add wires in the motor housing. The puddle lights you’ll need to wire back to source... but that should be easy to chase out.
Do you have the terminals you need? If not, I did order more than I needed. ;)

Kyle... it’s not that bad. And a guy could do it easier, I just choose to be very meticulous. I’ve had the cabin apart enough times now that I could have it torn down to where I was fishing the wires in under 5 minutes. And back together in under ten.

Thanks for the encouragement. I guess running a fish tape from one end to the other could be an alternative?

You might, but there’s bit of shit in the way. @2020Platinum has some great videos on the process to get the radio out, which is really only a few panels (lower console, then usb port area, then ac controller, then radio). The trim above the glove box is one piece -super easy. And the lower panel below the steering wheel is one piece. Add in the two wire gutters and kick panels and you’re GTG

I am on the fence with the Boost mirrors. I'm afraid if I don't get away from the "oem" tow mirrors, I will have an accident. Thank you for the write up, although I'll only use part of it, as I'm just interested in the spotlights. Curious whether you went with the lo or high power ones? And if you are happy with your choice?

I went high power. I am glad I did. The amount of output from those little lights isn’t overwhelming, but would be useful in certain situations (maneuvering a trailer into position in the dark for example). They also make good general rear-facing flood lights. I could see the low power lights being little more than puddle lights (though I haven’t seen them in person).

the biggest advantage of the Boost mirrors are that you can order them to exactly match the options/features your truck had and the install will be completely plug-and-play except for the added reverse flood lights (which are not on any Tundra). Or you can “add” features like power fold and do some extra wiring. They are also the only ones I could find that offered paintable caps instead of chrome or textured black... and I really like the smoked LED switchback front lights on them.

I wired them to a dedicated switch because I want to be able to use them when I want but not all the time.

Awesome write-up! All of that wiring may be a bit ambitious for me though, but I don't think I'd do the power folding portion so that would help .

If you have a chance next time you're in the truck, could you please take a photo of each mirror from a driver's perspective? I've been really thinking about swapping the OEM tow mirrors lately, you really can't see a whole lot out of them even though they have a lot of surface area (especially the passenger side mirror imo).

Also I had to laugh to myself at your photo stuck in the truck when it was raining, it is your username after all .

I’ll get a picture that shows what I see from the mirror tomorrow. Compared to OEM that I had on my 2008, i like these a lot better. Only issue is that the lower mirror doesn’t adjust outward quite as much as I’d like - it shows more of the side of the truck than I did with my other ones. I need to fiddle with it a little more though.

while my username can be associated with our weather, it’s actually a reference to a Dustin Hoffman movie. I’ve been accused of being a “high functioning autistic” by people i work with
