I’m definitely getting a high clearance rear bumper for the tundra and cutting the bedsides next week
From @BashFab while the girl is there may do a hybrid style custom front bumper too. I don’t have the coin for winch or big lights right now. Maybe able to get new fogs. Any advice, pics, comments would really help. What’s the best simple rear bumper and bedside cut out there? Weight is more a concern in the front, rear I don’t really care. Think the heavy Dobinsons pack will handle whatever fine. The front is a heavy coil but only 2.25” of lift think I’ll lose 1/4” in the front whatever I do especially if I add a big winch eventually. Not sure I even need a winch but the insurance would be nice! 6AC76645-5344-4E45-874A-BCBA7505B9F6.jpgBDEFDECA-AF4C-43D8-854D-388E9958F1CA.jpg

Trail toys had a super simple tough high clearance bumper for 2nd gens that I really want to get at some point.

They are going to make you a custom front bumper? I guess a good starting point would be so you want tube or plate?

The TrailToys bumper fits on 3rd gens as well. I installed it a couple weeks ago, fits like a glove.

Good question! I’m interested in hybrid style open to opinions and hearing the positive and negative of each. Chad says DOM is pricier but easier to work with than plate I think. So the cost evens out due to labor intensity. Plate around the winch area but tubing to the edges. I don’t want a mid height hoop. Maybe a low stinger or none at all. Don’t want to mess with the TSS.

Yes thank you. I haven’t really seen many options and I like this one! Of course there must be dimple die. Chad likes to throw it in.

Here are two more examples of his work. The first gen rear is really something I like seems similar to some posted above but I love the custom touches. Not sure I want the DOM rail added though. On the front here it’s a close to “standard” hybrid design though I’m thinking I’d like it to stick out slightly more forward to get matching dimple-die steps 360 degrees almost around the rig, he added the slots for light mounting which seems like a nice option.

Leaning towards these two styles with slight modifications and of course to fit my truck. Want a low stinger on the front to aid in removal if necessary, and a dimple-die plate step in the rear bumper to clean up the look and match my slider. Price for both is starting to creep up, but I don’t want to wish I did it differently due to a few hundred bucks. I’m probably gonna throw a Chinese winch on and have him make a bracket to get the factory fogs installed for now. Starting to come together for the planning stage. So stoked to see it come to life in the next few weeks!

My truck is with Chad now. Ordered some Baja designs knock offs to replace the fogs and the Badlands Apex winch is sitting in The back seat waiting for him to install!

You and me both! Can’t wait to see what he comes up with. Texted me tonight after seeing this thread and said he had something in his mind like the trail toys just a few other touches of his and things I asked for. Like tube instead of rectangle around the side with a little extra width, an angled bed cut and a dimple die top step.Ultimately decided against the stinger as I’m afraid it will interfere with the TSS.

I like some things about this one, what is the cutout in the side for? Just curious. I’m hoping for a better rear step too.

Side cut outs are for the lane sensors I believe. That got put on a limited so has all the bells and whistles(sensors)

Oh haha... glad I don’t have those. All
I want is the oh shit stop one. Hence no stinger or front cages.
