My first vehicle when I was 16 was an 85 4Runner. Solid front axle and 22RE. Traded it to my dad for an 87 hilux (pickup) cause I thought trucks were cooler. Then he sold 4runner little while later. Didn't realize what I had until it was gone... I wake up to this day with nightmares regretting the 4runner didn't stay in the family...

Pretty much what I'd like one for. Getting those small errands done like grabbing a 6 pack from around the corner.

I have a solution for the lack of waiving. I'll just get a helmet like Idris Elba near the end of this scene.

 Now I gotta look up and watch that movie!

This helmet got the best reaction from kids and grown ups alike. You can see I was clearly on another "grocery run"!

That's one of my favorite movies. All star cast and a plot that keeps getting better.

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is great too, same goes for Snatch.

My neighbor bought a scooter like this at a yard sale and got it running for almost nothing. I'd like to try a little scooter or a Grom eventually.

Looks cool but I would be afraid to ride a motorcycle that makes the noise of a prius.

Ok we won't call it a motorcycle, how about a fast and scary lawnmower?

I had a fast and scary mini bike when I was a teenager. It ran a honda 5hp with the governor removed. It ripped hard off the line.

Unfortunately, I grew up in the moped era. People wanted to try them out, but not be seen on one.

I remember one kid who couldn't afford a $600 moped at the time welded a lawnmower engine to the frame of his mountain bike to simulate one.

I live in a rural town so this will get used if I need to go to the hardware store or market for something small. Don't trust bringing it into the next city over though.

Buellers mostly point at their bike and my bike. Like a jeep wave, but you only get to do it once in a blue moon. I wave at bikers and know a little of the motorcyclist sign language. Only half wave back when im on the xr650. I hear alot of harley guys say the buell just has a sportster engine to their buddies.

A really nice 87 came up for sale near me last month for 7k. My wife said let's buy it but I have no room for another car. Has the IFS though, the solid axle are more sought after.

Solid axle conversion shouldn't be that hard on them, I helped two friends convert a 91 pickup using I think an 83 front axle(had factory gussets, really nice). Took us about 10 hours and a few 18 packs. Hardest part was drilling big holes through the frame that were aligned right, the rest was a bolt on affair.

Can confirm. I’ve got a dual sport and a vintage chopper. In addition to what you’re riding, HOW you wave, can make a difference if you get a wave back. It’s always funny to see the weekend warrior riders, waving their hands overhead.

I’ve got this neighbor, probably around 60 yr old, and every morning he rides his bike back and forth on our street, end to end, and with a jolly smile, he waves at every single car that passes, and it’s a really busy street. It’s cool to see what a positive influence such a simple gesture can have on a community. Recently he was away for a few days, and some random actually stopped and asked about him. They needed their morning wave and smile.

I laughed just imagining that one. Around here its usually like hanging a subtle sideways peace sign as you pass. Not an actual wave.

Sweet pic by the way, alway loved that logo.

I imagine a dad in a polo shirt, cargo shorts, and new balances on a bike doing the overhead wave.

I have a Triumph Street Triple R that gets me to/from work during the warm months. My boss told me he noticed increased productivity from April - Oct due to me arriving at the office 20 minutes earlier than during winter commutes :)

They're great for the quick trip here and there, especially in a large city. When I moved out here I figured I'd get another one but the reality has been I much prefer the comfort/ease of not gearing up and having air conditioning.

I still own my first dual sport (DR650) 15 years later. I still cant ride off-road well enough to go orange so the Suzuki is here to stay.

I'm sure the "therapy" riding provides doesn't hurt. ;)

I would like to get a dual sport or Enduro soon in order to get off road again. I raced competitively in both moto/hares my entire up bringing. College and beer ended that pretty quickly. Shameless photo post because it reminds me that I'm old now.

... and yes, I was a cocky ass hole and autographed a photo for my mom. She loved it.
