I had a similar problem once. Truck kept shutting off like it wasn’t getting fuel. It was a blown fuse. Replaced it and problem was solved.

There are fuses for the fuel pump and fuel pump relay! Please check those first. Especially if the battery was disconnected/reconnected as well as the electrical at the fuel tank!

Here is a short repair video on fuel pump that has a some diagnosing in it. If you can find a warm garage, follow the video and check every connection that was disconnected.

    1) Any gas smell? maybe vacuum leak bad seal at pump or lines or fuel cap?
    2) Electrical?
    3) My truck will not start with 1/8 tank on a steep hill. As said before make sure you have some gas in it. If you're fuel pump picked up debris in your tank and pump was replaced, there is a possibility of some debris that got past the filter and clogged fuel line. Not common though, I'd check the other options first.

Here's another video that helped me out with relays/ fuel pumps on my 2004 troubleshooting days. Although a different year, and it's a Sequoia, still applicable for info. I'll find video's like these and save them in a youtube folder for reference later. Good luck!

I had watched that last video its an excellent step by step. Apparently the shop didn't and didn't check the control module because taking one look at it and you would have immediately guessed that was the issue. I would imagine the wires corroded which explains how it worked again for a day. Unfortunately I trusted a shop to work on my truck and it's cost me 6 days without a vehicle and an extra $1000 due to them not diagnosing that pump properly. When they originally said it was the fuel pump I had doubts as I could still hear the pump kicking on when the key was in. That doesn't mean there couldn't be an issue but I figured they ran through the diagnosing check list.

SOLVED -Control Module was the issue.

Glad you got it back and running. Hopefully you have got a mechanic that “owes” you one if need another fix or possible mod

I had the same kind of problem, 12v supply to the control module in the left rear chassis, but when connecting the fuel pump to it,the 12v disappeared, my solution was applying 12v via a switch to the fuel pump instead of buying a new fuelpump control module.

Thats the problem with shops that guess instead of diagnose issues. It really pisses me off.

Glad you got it figured out.

Kind of a bad place to put a control module. I should check mine soon...

I checked wich wires go from the controle module to the pump and applied power and earth over the ignition trough a fuse , so I bypassed the module by the chassis in the rear left wheel
