What's the Fox equivalent? I need to lift my front by an inch or so to alleviate rub and won't be doing any major off road, just gravel roads, grassy fields, snow covered driving ect.

That’s the size range for 2.5s. The 5160s are 2.0 shocks but they’re actually 1.8.

Do not put 2.0 coilovers on a heavy tundra. 6112s are 2.5s.

I don’t have any Tundy 6112s either... probably 2 months out yet. Or better.

Thanks for the heads up !

Talk about a wake up call to the newbie here.
Chose a lane... made a decision and got all pumped up ... just to get popped in the mouth.

After seeing some of the comments here ... I may take a little time to do more research before I decided to wait on them or move to something else.

Just like you, myself and a bunch of other members are in the same boat.
The fact that the 6112/5160 combo works for so many and at the price point makes is a no brainer for my needs.
But the lack of availability and the positive reviews of other setups (Ironman, Toytec, Dobinsons) although at a higher price point definitely makes it so much more difficult to stick with a choice haha!

Have you considered Old Man Emu Nitrochargers, use the 612 springs if keeping your stock bumpers and no winch.

You get the same amount of lift if not a little more than the 6112s. Great ride and proven performance and price is close to the same. Got mine from Toytec.

Same boat. Was going to pull the trigger on the 6112s and now looking at spending more or going with Old Man Emu...

Odd as I’ve got 5100s on my work Tundra and believe it’s an excellent ROI

5100s on my 1st gen were awesome. Believe the 6112s are worth the wait. To cold to work on truck anyway like 75 today.

6112/5160. Ranchhand rear bumper and Valhallas Shields.
After reading this post I'm really glad I got my 6112/5160 in late AUG. I bought Eibach Pro set for my 4Runner and LOVE it, not sure how they ride on Tundra's but on my 4Runner it rides way better than stock.

Theyre stock with 600# springs, so softer and not ideal for adding any weight. You can get them with a 700# spring though. Last I checked theyre a few months backordered at most places. So theyre pretty much the same as a 6112, just 2.5x more expensive. :D

Was gonna go with 6112s, but out of stock everywhere...so I decided to go Fox 2.5 and Accutune Offroad has the rears in stock and fronts ETA is April, so not too bad I guess. (Kings were out til June or later). Spent a little more but it'll be worth it.

FWIW anyone looking for 6112s should consider just getting the Ironman coil overs. They’re adjustable on the truck and when they’re on sale they the same price as 6112s. Last week they had a 25% off and they were going for <800 assembled.

    Theyre 2.6” as well, lol.

The 25% off this past weekend only applied to sale items I thought. I think they were still over 1k.

I had them in my cart. The fronts were discounted, the rears werent. I actually bought them but then had to cancel once I realized they were 583lb coils. They make a 740lb set, just wasnt in stock. They were $770 on sale.

The 583s will be softer than the 6112s once you lower them down from the preset 3.5" lift IM sets them at.

    Currently the 10% still works.

    IM.jpg

Even now, I'd pay an extra $100 for them to be adjustable.

Yep 650lb. I wanted at least a 650 so I can run a bumper, skid and such down the road.

    Yours should sell quick, GLWS.

Saw you were thinking about the Elkas. You pull the trigger on those? Am thinking about bailing on the 6112’s for the Elka non-resi. Looking for any input. Only seeing people with the full set ups.

I did! They're not here yet though. Everything is built to order for them, and I got a chance to handpick my specs. I actually don't sell them yet so I wanted to see if I wanted to and also was interested in seeing how they held up to the elements up north here!

Should be about 6 weeks from now.

Hey JPD... so I have 6112s and I am not a fan at all. They are a cheap...ish way to lift your truck without spacers, but just like who ever said they ride like crap on concrete, mine do as well, no matter the tire pressure and I've experimented. It's not really a problem on asphalt roads, but on concrete it's a freaking pogo stick now. The does improve slightly at highway speeds. They are decent when under load, but if the truck is empty with just the driver, it's not a smooth ride, but I have zero desire to add sand bags and crap so the trucks doesn't ride like shit.

I would HIGHLY recommend for you to do research on digressive, linear, and progressive shock valving to see what fits YOUR needs, even if it may mean going a different or more expensive route. I quickly learned that I HATE digressive (Bilstein and a few other brands) shocks because they are super stiff during low speed compression, so for lower speed city driving on sectioned concrete, bring a mouth guard. I would love to take a ride in a truck with progressive and linear shock setups to feel the difference before I change my setup. Yes, it's a truck, I'm not expecting a Cadillac air ride and I've only put 4K or so miles on the 6112s, but I might end up getting Fox DSC coilovers (linear valving) with adjustable clickers for extra damping control. Yes they are a lot more expensive, but I would have gladly waited and saved up for them to avoid 6112s if I would have looked into different valving types and didn't blindly follow this forum's suggestions.

This is an interesting point of view and explanation. Glad to have seen this as I am considering upgrading from stock. I have a 2wd truck and spend 100% of the time on paved road. Not looking to lift the truck just perhaps level it. How much research have you done? Is Fox the only one you have found that would suit a smoother "on-road" ride quality?
