I just did a search and found a guy that did it. Checking his vid out on YT now. It's a sideways sliding mod. Looks pretty trick.

The chrome in my surround has a few bubbles in it, and I think when one finally goes I’m going to color match mine with the desert sand mica. May see how much it would cost to have painted versus me doing it, but we will see.

After paying for the paint it was about 45 bucks. Mine had a few very small bubbles from rock chips but I just sanded them out the best I could.

Hey just got this cam as well. Ordered the parking mode cable so curious how you got that set up if you went the same route.

Soooo....bought some Morimoto XB headlights in May 2020 and the driver side lens got some moisture in it after a few weeks of really bad winter rain.

Headlight Revolution’s customer service was fantastic and they took care of everything. Installed the replacement set this weekend.

Also swapped both front door lock actuators as they went out around the same time. Amazon special for a total of about $70 for both .

Finished up my grille project: Toyota emblem from a 3rd gen Tacoma epoxied into an eBay grille. I really like the look, but had some problems with paint. I'll probably go back in the future and redo the Toyota gray with a gloss silver paint, and fix the splotchy clear coat.

I also replaced the factory NAV unit and installed a Sony Apple Car Play HU and even got the factory back up camera to work. Gonna place the working NAV unit on eBay to see what I can get.
While cleaning up my “new to me ride” I found a pair of fuzzy handcuffs under the passenger seat, they were hidden pretty well. Just damn glad I found them now instead of my wife finding them two years down the road. While rotating the tires, found that whoever did it last stuck an acorn style lug nut on, damn lucky it wasn’t over torqued and cracked the wheel.

Finally warm enough to spray some black 2k liner on the rockwarrior grill I've had in my garage for months. That chrome grill's days are numbered.

Did you use a spray an adhesion promoter or just sand paper the finish?

I sanded with 80 grit really good. Blew off with 100psi then wiped multiple times with alcohol, taped off and sprayed it. No adhesion promoter used.

My old wiper arm springs are weak and don’t press the wiper against the windshield proper anymore. Have to buy the whole arm to get a new spring. So, in true hackshow form I modified the spring connector with a pair of vise grips. Boom good as new. :hattip:

Repaired this lil bugger. Got one of those kits that pulls a vacuum with a syringe then uses the same syringe to force resin into the chip. Worked pretty dang good.

Also got the new grill in. The truck bed liner on it turned out perfect! Super easy to remove the old grill and get the new one in.

Install 4th rear brake light, so to speak. ;) Yes, I know my 3rd brake light isn't working. I'm waiting for the LED bulb to arrive.

3rd pic is of the LED reverse bulbs I installed. Left is the original, and right is the LED if you haven't noticed. :)

Also for kicks, de-badged and replaced decals/badge.

430E589F-8139-46AC-838E-EDBE8DD769CA.jpg Due to the increase of unlocked cars being broken in to in some of the surrounding areas, I decided to stop using the HomeLink in my vehicles to open my garage so the thieves don’t use it to help themselves to my goodies in the garage. I always keep my vehicles locked, but you never know. I decided to use the unused garage door opener’s I have and hide them. I went to Home Depot and bought some momentary buttons and soldered them to the garage door opener board. This way I can hide them anywhereI choose. I just drill a hole for the button and use 3M Velcro ( the same type you use for an EZ Pass ) to attach the board. Home Depot also now sells that exact same Velcro.

    Thanks.

You can find the Badges on Ebay. That's where I got them. Link below:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-TRD-PRO...r-Badge-For-Toyota-Tacoma-Tundra/362830484188

If you're going to buy/use the badge make sure you peel off the double-sided tape that's already on them because they're junk. See attached pic. And replace them with some stronger ones.

    The running boards are OEM.
