So I have gotten to the point where I'm going to mount a 6.2' x 8.2' awning on my Tundie.

I have a "Glasstite" topper with no provision for mounting a rack. I have no plans right now to stow gear on the roof of this (awning excepted) but could maybe see adding a cargo box for light gear stowage in addition to mounting the awning.

I wonder if anyone has some advice on how best to mount, at a minimum, the awning? I'm good with hunting down a roof rack if I need to, but thought I would ask if anyone has mounted these awnings "creatively" to their topper?

I just went with Yakima roof racks. Cargo box comes in handy when going on a trip with the dogs in the bed. The bracket above would work, but I have a couple of concerns. My top corners have a large radius and the leg that attaches to the top would have to be extremely long. Also, if later you do opt for a top or a basket, you might have some holes to fill in. Why not velcro? I've got hunting gear bags with velcro closures that are older than my 27-year-old offspring, still holding tight. Don't know how it would hold up to constant UV light, but I've seen it in rolls that have a fold-over cover strip to keep grime, etc., out of it when not in use...at the big sportsman stores like Bass Pro Shop, Cabela's etc.

Before I look deeper at what JMB suggests above, I wonder if anyone has seen or mounted "rack track" or some sort of beefier DIY alternative?

Seems since all I'm really NEEDING to get done is mount an awning, but it might be nice to be able to have the versatility that something like a Rack Track or channel might be able to provide.

    Thoughts?
