internet rule #1 - Opinions of people that have recently bought an item will defend it to the death to avoid coming to terms with what they purchased was actually a waste of money. XD

Perhaps the internet in general, but this site is a cut above John Q public and doubt anyone here would mislead on a 25 dollar antenna to save face..

Honestly, I’m just ready to stop smacking my garage door with the OEM antenna.

    yes and no.
i'm sure there are a few in here that aren't mentioning the fact that they purely bluetooth their own music or use satellite radio, neither of which takes advantage of the antenna. a shorty works like a charm if you never actually use it :)

yes sir they do. my point is money back guarantee or not, it's important to know whether the user is actually receiving radio with the antenna or if they just bought it for aesthetic reasons.
no offense intended, just looking out for the fellas.

Recent trip over the weekend 190 miles out and back, FM signal was the same as the stock antenna. NO ISSUES with the stubby for me.

Went through the Berkshires as well as the Adirondacks and absolutely no different than the factory antenna. My wife was perturbed because I wouldn't turn on XM..

I live somewhat out in the country outside D/FW. I got the suggested antennae. All the big stations it works fine. One station that used to come in about 85% of the time now comes in about 45% of the time. Other than that, I’m happy with it.

Don’t think it matters much for standard use. I got one from autozone and haven’t had any issues with it (can’t remember brand). All standard channels sound good

I bought the one that looks like a 50 cal round. Ended up sending it back as the reception was not good.

pay for XM and throw your antenna in the garbage. Find the type of thread and replace it with a socket head screw that is what i did.

    I got the Antennasource one.

I checked once to make sure it works, and it does... good enough for me. I stream all my music. I bought it for looks, and because the factory rubber base on mine was pretty much rotted out when I got the truck.

Those thinking it works just as well as the long factory one are likely mistaken; it may appear to work as well if you are in a high signal area, but to conclusively say it works as well would require actual scientific testing which none of us are likely doing.

I also had to shave the base on mine a little bit with a razor blade to get it to actually fit. No big deal... better than being too loose.

Edit: Forgot I had to buy the base trim/mount piece separately. This is the one I got that had to shave, but it works and is tight and looks good:

Anyone who lives in the mountains tried this antenna? I'm in Vermont's Green Mountains, and even the factory antenna has trouble pulling in all the stations. As for satellite... driving down Rt 17 from home into town, I lose the satellite signal twice as I wind down the road. It's in the middle of a river valley with hills on both sides, you see.

So... since the local car wash jockeys seem to hate seeing my antenna (which was bent when they handed it to me), is this stubby really as good as the original? Not in a major metro areas, but where signals are more marginal? Because like ezdog, I have my doubts that a center-loaded stubby can really outperform the longer one.

I have not had good luck with any of these stubby antennas and reception. ... i live like 70 miles from NYC ... maybe i'm too far away to get a good signal without the ridiculous flagpole antenna

70 miles in which direction, North? I drive I-90 through Mass and NY and then up 87 with no reception issues.

I had one on my old 2014. The 6 ¾” model. Definitely a performance drop from OEM whip style. Like almost to zero. I live on the border of Lake Ontario and St Lawrence river. Pick up Canadian (Kingston) stations with OEM and there aren’t many stations to choose from otherwise. Looking again for something for my ‘19. If antennasource or wherever I got mine from makes one that’s longer than 6.75 then I’d probably get that just to see. It’d be an appearance thing anyways as I mostly use Spotify for music/podcasts.
Happened to come across this one on the ole Bezos empire:
Tekk Short Antenna Compatible with 1999-2022 Tundra | Designed for Optimized FM/AM Reception | 4.8 Inches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MRJFRZD

Anybody have any experience with this one? Gimmick or is “extra copper super awesomeness” actually a legit thing?

Had it and replaced it with a Rydonair (sp?) that I’m struggling to find a link for on Amazon. Bought both on Am, but the Tekk one def didn’t pick up nearly what I could from the old whip. So I replaced it and now am much better and closer to original signal strength (but nothing beats the whip for signal). I’ve traveled coast to coast, whether left to right or top to bottom. Big cities, national parks, serious backwoods away from civilization. Rydonair one works great.
