I've never seen a spring in the steering column that could effect or eliminate wheel shake.

Unfortunately that isn't an option because the rack and pinion in not serviceable. If there's an issue it's simply replaced and on the Tundra there is a fair amount of labour for the R and R. Maybe a rebuilder of steering gears may be able to do it but it would be easier to address the issues causing the shake in the first place.

Been in 14 times, multiple tire balance, multiple alignments , new front diff and driver cv. Just was turned down for lemon law because it’s not a safety concern. Very disappointed in Toyota, never thought about a different truck till now.

More than likely it's a tire issue. Move the fronts to back and see if it gets better. Have you call Toyota customer service?

yeah called, I filled lemon law with them. may file with my state or just get ride of truck. Just seeing if someone found the issues.. does the same thing with my winter rims so doubt it’s tires.

Give it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it. It's under warranty. Don't pick it up until they show you it's fixed. There is no way Toyota Corporate is not going to resolve this.

It feels like the engine is causing it, it changes harshness at different Rpms. I was told they will not look at it for this issue again. I’m very disappointed with Toyota all around.
Was going to trade it in on a 21 tundra but with how I was treated I can’t give Toyota anymore money. Been looking at 2500 duramax

I would like to see the problem. Make a video of the wheel shake and post it up.

Wheel shakes is cause by a rotational imbalance of rotating parts so things like tires, wheels, brakes rotor, CV axles, etc. Its unlikely engine related.

its not a shake it’s a vibration, nothing to see.. Service manager said yeah I feel it but it’s not really that bad, he drove the truck for 2 minutes.
Would the brakes cause vibration with no brake pedal pulsating ?

So a vibration. No brakes would unlikely cause any vibration and there would be a change when the brakes are applied.

What rpm does the vibration occur? What vehicle speed does the vibration occur? Is there a change in the intensity of the vibration when rpm and vehicle speed change.

If a family member or friend drives the truck what would their comments be?

So you only had one service manager drive the truck for two minutes?

@Ruggybuggy I love you, man, but you need to come down to The States and see the shit show that dealership service departments are down here. Every service department, regardless of brand, that I have dealt with always has their priorities effed up. They behave as if their sole purpose is to make you leave as quickly as possible. Some are more polite than others, but they all try to do zero work on the vehicles and act like doing anything beyond an oil change is them doing you the biggest favor in the history of mankind. They treat every customer as though they are exaggerating every problem and like they are just being whiny.

3 different Toyota dealers, 6 plus Toyota techs, regional technician.. same results.. yeah I feel it but that’s normal, wasn’t there for the first 7k miles

If they are saying it's normal I would challenge them in showing you on one of there new Tundras the same condition.

Do this little test for me and see if you can duplicate the vibration. In an empty parking lot put the truck in drive and keep your left foot on the brake. Step on the throttle slightly and slowly increase the rpm until you feel the vibration. If the vibration is there note what rpm it happened. Report back.

I was told no new ones in stock.. walked to sales and drove a 21 with ten minutes of leaving service.. dealers do not care I was told they don’t get paid for diagnostic work so if it’s not obvious they don’t fix it.
Tried what you asked down a back road, very little vibrations getting up to 3k rpm but truck started to go.. if I accelerate hard I can feel it maybe coming from back but it may just be the tires grabbing hard.

I’d say sell it to Carvana but you’ll be hard pressed to find a replacement. You’ll at least get your money back (or in my case net $4k over what I paid new.)

Can't tell if you're making a crack at the driver, or if there might actually be hardware in need of tightening.

I still gotta insist you try somewhere like Firestone before giving up on the ride. Still wished I would have done that before tossing my new Taco out the window. They did what 2 dealers and over a dozen visits couldn't for my wife's 4Runner. Just leave it with them and tell them to call when it's fixed.

Thought about carvana but like you said I wouldn’t be able to replace plus it’s most cost efficient to trade in.
    Loose nut ? Please elaborate.
I wish it was just me lol, everyone that I let drive it says the same thing.
I was told they will not work on it for this issue anymore.. hate to leave the Toyota supposedly reliably but my hands go numb on long drives..
going to try a local shop and see what they say.

Your hands go numb after long drives? That may be an over exaggeration. If the vibration is that subtle there is no way it should put your hands asleep unless these is something physically wrong with you. I've had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and my motorcycle doesn't put my hands asleep.

As for the test I asked you to do. You felt no vibration from the truck up to 3K when the truck wasn't moving. You had mentioned previously that you noticed it at lower rpms under load while moving. So I'm thinking engine, trans and exhaust are not the issue. Next I would inspect the driveshaft for damage. I would also jam some rubber between the leaf springs to eliminate them as the cause.

Sour patch kid.. first your sour then your sweet and give me solutions to try.. I’ve check driveshaft all seems normal, all weights appear to be in place. If it was from the rear wouldn’t I feel it in floor or rear seats? I’ve even rode in the bed only up to 30.. didn’t feel anything serious.

last service manager that drove it said the engine maybe starting to break in. I told him I don’t think Toyota engineers designed a truck to vibrate the steering wheel when the engine breaks in at 9200 miles.
Going to try a local shop this week before trading it in..

Anyways I'm out. Good luck to you.

Not lying or exaggerating I drive with my left hand, pointer and thumb most the time. It sits on the door and yeah they were going to sleep while driving I had to keep switching hands. I’ve rode a couple bikes and this can be worse. Not sure what you have.

I was trying to make light of the situation but apparently we have different senses of humor, I’m sorry didn’t mean to upset you.

thanks for the pointers and I appreciate the help.

Having the same issues. It was intermittent up till the last service. Now I can feel it in the steering wheel (lower portion) and in the gas pedal. Definitely noticeable around 30-35mph and 70-75mph.

Tires were rotated during this past service, which leads me to believe it is a balance or alignment issues. Going to take it back soon to have them check. Hopefully it doesn’t require multiple trips. Truck has 20k.

My experience would lead me to believe the techs may have not put your wheels back on correctly. Just take them off one at a time and put them back on, making sure to tighten the lug nuts in a cross pattern and see if that fixes it.

I’ll add that it’s not an alignment issue. Vibrations are caused from something rotating. There is nothing rotating with a bad alignment. Look for items such as tires, wheels, rotating brake parts and driveline.
